Glenlochy
Glenlochy is a former Highland malt distillery that was located in Fort William and was built by David McAndie in 1898. Despite surviving the Pattison Crash in the early 20th century, it was forced to close in 1919 due to the disruption of the first world war. Glenlochy then re-opened under American-ownership in 1937 when it was bought by National Distillers subsidiary, Train & McIntye, before being sold to the Distillers Company in 1953.
Distillers Company ran the distillery in two stints before closing it for a final time in 1983. Always destined for blends, Glenlochy single malt was never officially bottled in its lifetime and the only distillery bottlings to have been released were four entries in the Rare Malts Selection and a 2-bottle outturn from cask 1531 that were auctioned in 1998.
