FEW Spirits
FEW Spirits is an American distillery, founded in 2011 by Paul Hletko. It is located in Evanstown, Illinois, a city in Illinois that was a dry community between 1858 and 1972 and the distillery name is taken from the initials of Frances Elizabeth Willard, a local woman who became second president of the Woman's Christian Temperance Union. Today the distillery is run by Samson & Surrey, a division of the Heaven Hill Brands group which acquired it in 2022.
A grain-to-glass producer, the distillery operates a small Vendome column still where all of its spirit originates, with the whiskey finished in a 1500-litre hybrid still and the gin in a 150-lite pot still. Whiskey varieties include bourbon, rye and single malt.
FEW Spirits bottles both its whiskey and gin using the same brand name. Its whiskey portfolio is headlined by three different products, its straight bourbon, straight rye, and a 100% single malt. In 2018 it also introduced an American straight whiskey that is a blend of the previous three. It then added Bottled in Bond versions of its bourbon and rye in 2021 and 2022, respectively.
Its whiskey portfolio also includes flavoured expressions such as a cold brew coffee-infused bourbon called Cold Cut, and the tea-infused Immortal Rye. Limited edition collaborations have also appeared over the years, notably with rock bands such as The Flaming Lips and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.
The distillery's gin portfolio is three-pronged and features Breakfast Gin, American Gin and the cask-aged Barrel Gin.
