Eden Mill
Eden Mill is a brewery and distillery located in the Fife town of St. Andrews. It opened in 2012 as Eden Brewery, originally focussing on its beer before transforming into Scotland's first combined brewing and distilling complex in 2014, rebranding as Eden Mill in the process. As of 2022 the venture has been owned by the brand investment company, Inverleith LLP.
In its whisky production, the distillery leans heavily into its brewing background by selecting traditionally beer-associated malts such as pale malt, crystal malt and chocolate malt for its mash. It is also notable for its hugely successful gin brand.
The Eden Mill brand name is used to market both the distillery's gin and its single malt whisky. Naturally, the former was released first and proved to be incredibly successful. The debut release was its Golf Gin, which it launched in 2015.
The distillery's inaugural single malt release was launched in 2018, with the first 10 bottles auctioned exclusively by Whisky Auctioneer. It introduced its Hip Flask Series at the same time, a set of releases that spotlighted the various distilling practices employed at the distillery. There is not current permanent core range, however an annual small batch single malt is released as part of the Art of St Andrews range, as well as regular batches of its rum, madeira and port cask aged Cask Mastery bottlings.
