Echlinville
Opened in 2013, Echlinville distillery became the first new whisky producer to be established in Northern Ireland for 125 years. It is located in County Down near the shores of Strangford Lough. A field-to-glass distiller, it grows all of its own barley on its adjoining 18-acre farm and operates its own in-house maltings.
The distillery lends its name to its pot-distilled gin brand, preferring to use revived legacy labels such as Dunville's for its single malt, and Old Comber for its single pot still. It also produces a poitín label called Bán Poitín.
The Echlinville brand name is not used for the distillery's whiskey at the moment, and instead leveraged to market its trickle pot-distilled Irish gin. It was introduced in 2016 and is produced using the company's own barley for the neutral spirit, flavoured with botanicals including rose flowers, anise, sweet kelp seaweed from Strangford Lough, and indigenous gorse flowers from the fields surrounding the distillery.
It is currently available in a single proprietary format.
