Wemyss Family Spirits was founded in 2005 by brother and sister team, William and Isabella Wemyss. The company was originally known as Wemyss Vintage Malts before changing its name in 2020. Part of the Wemyss Properties group, it manages the distribution and marketing of the company's spirits brands.
The company bottles blended Scotch whiskies and independent single casks under its flagship Wemyss Malts brand. This was joined in 2010 by Darnley's gin, and in 2018 by Kingsbarns single malt.
