Watney Mann was an English brewery company formed in 1958 by the merger of Watney, Combe, Reid & Co with Mann, Crossman & Paulin. The company made a very brief play in the whisky industry by acquiring International Distillers & Vintners (IDV) in 1972, however it was acquired itself by the ambitious hotel chain, Grand Metropolitan, just six months later.
Its Scotch whisky holdings in that six month period included the J&B blends alongside the Knockando, Glen Spey and Strathmill distilleries.
