J&G Stodart
J&G Stodart (also referenced as Jas. & Geo. Stodart) was a Scottish blending company founded in 1835 by brothers, James and George Stodart. The company was acquired by Barclay & MacKinlay in 1922, who sold a controlling stake to Hiram Walker-Gooderham & Worts in 1930. The Canadian distilling giant acquired sole ownership of the company in 1936, assigning it the license for Glenburgie distillery and tasking it with providing fillings for the Ballantine's blends.
Other brands associated with the business were the Old Smuggler and Stodart's blends, and it also briefly bottled Glenburgie as a single malt. The company operated as a subsidiary of the Chivas Brothers division of Pernod Ricard until 2006. It was then renamed Old Stewart Ltd and subsequently dissolved in 2011.
