Historic Environment Scotland

Historic Environment Scotland is an executive non-departmental public body responsible for investigating, caring for and promoting Scotland's historic environment. It was formed in 2015 by the merging of Historic Scotland with the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland (RCAHMS).

As part of its portfolio, the entity owns and cares for the historic Dallas Dhu distillery. It was acquired from the Distillers Company Limited in 1986 and is today run as a museum of whisky and distilling.
