Cork Distilleries is a non-trading subsidiary of the Irish Distillers group, itself part of the holdings of French multinational, Pernod Ricard. The company was originally founded in 1867 through the merger of Daly's, the Green, North Mall and the Watercourse distilleries in Cork, with (Old) Midleton joining the following year. It merged with former rival distillers, John Power & Son and John Jameson & Son in 1966.
The company is best-known for its Paddy Irish whiskey brand, and Irish Distillers has also marketed whiskey it distilled at Old Midleton prior to its closure in 1975.
