Eagle Rare

Eagle Rare is a brand of Kentucky straight bourbon currently distilled at Buffalo Trace and marketed by its owner, the Sazerac Company. It was originally devised in 1975 by Seagram in order to directly compete with the popular Wild Turkey label from Austin Nichols & Co, borrowing a number of what it felt were its successful motifs.

The Sazerac Company markets a 10-year-old expression as the proprietary Eagle Rare product, and offers single versions of it through its Single Barrel Select programme. A premium 17-year-old was also introduced in 2000 and is released annually as part of the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection.
