Glencadam 1987 Against the Grain 18 Year Old
Glencadam
One of two malt distilleries in the Scotch whisky holdings of Angus Dundee Distillers, under whom its single malt brand has quietly developed strong reputation. It was built in 1825 by George Cooper and prior to the 21st century was mostly utilised for the provision of various blenders.
Against the Grain
A briefly produced brand of independently bottled Scotch whiskies from the wine and spirits retailer, Oddbins. The brand name was first used on bottle of Springbank, specially bottled for Oddbins by the distillery. It returned in 2005 as an annual release of often mysteriously titled single malts.
Oddbins
One of the UK's leading off-license retails chains, founded in 1963 by Ahmed Pochee. Although primarily a wine retailer, the company has had significant dealings in whisky in its time, including bottlings its own independent brands and marketing some notable exclusive releases.
