A distillery with a turbulent history, punctuated by numerous ownership changes. It is currently part of the Pure Scot Ltd holdings of Australian entrepreneur and yoghurt mogul, David Prior. Although historically operated for the provision of blends, it is now focussed on its single malt brand.
Rare Auld
Rare Auld is a brand of independently bottled single cask Scotch whiskies from Duncan Taylor. It was introduced in 2004 and has included both single malt and single grain whiskies over the years, focussing exclusively on the latter since 2019.
Duncan Taylor
Established in 1936, Duncan Taylor is a historic Scotch whisky company. A cask broker and independent bottler, its brands include the Dimensions, The Octave and Rare Auld single casks, and the blended Scotch labels such as Black Bull and The Big Smoke.
