Ancient Old Parr Scotch Whisky

This very early example of Ancient Old Parr was produced from 1909 to 1919, between the introduction of the brand and the reorganisation of Greenlees Brothers as Macdonald Greenlees, & Williams Distillers.
Old Parr
A famous brand of blended Scotch whisky, currently produced and marketed by Diageo and primarily found in export markets. It was firs introduced in 1909 by Greenlees Brothers and takes its name from legend of Thomas Parr, said to be England’s longest-lived man at 152-years-old when he died in 1635.

A company originally founded as Alexander & Macdonald in 1840 before being renamed in 1871 following its acquisition by James and Samuel Greenlees. The company introduced the famous Old Parr brand of blended Scotch in 1909 and was renamed again as Macdonald Greenlees & Williams Distillers in 1919.
