Akashi
A Japanese whisky brand introduced in 2007 by Eigashima Shuzo Co. It was originally devised as a means of differentiating its single malt produced at Eigashima (formerly White Oak) distillery from its blends, however now encompasses both categories.
Eigashima Shuzo Co
A historic Japanese spirits company, originally established as a sake producer in 1888. It obtained its first license to distil whisky in 1919, however only made a concerted effort to enter the marketplace in the 1960s. It owns the Eigashima (formerly White Oak) distillery and the Akashi brand.
