Bottle Details

Mitchell & Son 20 Year Old Cognac 1960s

An old mystery bottle of 20 year old Cognac bottled by Mitchell & Son (Wine Merchants) Ltd. of 21 Kildare Street, Dublin.

The practice of merchant own-bottlings was common throughout Ireland and indeed, many of the most recognisable of Irish whiskies today started out as such.  The focus was on the reputation - and taste - of the merchants, not necessarily the distillery of origin.

We estimate this bottle to be from the 1960s at latest.
