Bidding advice
You can place bids either under the lot image on the main auction page or on the right side of the individual lot page.
Placing a Maximum Bid
Use the "Set your bid limit" button on the left side of the bidding panel to enter the highest amount you're willing to bid on a lot. Our system will then automatically raise your bid in set increments if you’re outbid, up to your maximum. If someone bids above your set limit, we’ll notify you by email so you can choose whether to increase your bid.
Placing a Single Bid
Alternatively, place a single bid by selecting the button on the right side of the bidding panel. The button displays the amount needed for the next increment. For example, if the current highest bid is £50.00, the button will show "+ £55.00" (reflecting a £5.00 increment).

Our system increases bids based on preset increments, as shown in the table below, whether you set a maximum bid or make a single bid.

Balmenach 1979 Hart Brothers 18 Year Old 75cl / US Import
Balmenach is a rarely seen single malt distillery in Speyside. It was built in the early 19th century and for the majority of the 20th it was owned by DCL (now Diageo). Its distinctive style made it highly prized by blenders, and little of it was spared for official distillery bottlings, or independents for that matter. The distillery was closed in 1993 during the Scotch market downturn, but was revived in 1997 by Inver House who purchased it and resumed production. The focus today is still on provision for blends, and Inver House are yet to release a distillery bottling. It is however the source of the popular Carounn gin.
This rare independent bottling was produced by Hart Brothers for the US market.
The Hart Brothers bottling company was founded in 1964 when Iain and Donald Hart incorporated as a wine and spirit merchant and Scotch whisky blenders. They have been bottling independent single malts since the 1980s.
Balmenach
A malt distillery in Speyside that is part of the Scotch whisky holding of ThaiBev through its subsidiary, Inver House Distillers. The distillery's output is highly-prized by blenders and has never been marketed as its own single malt brand.
Hart Brothers Finest Collection
The flagship single casks range from Scottish independent bottler, Hart Brothers. The first releases were bottled in 1995 and as of 1997 were available in cask strength and reduced ABV varieties.
Hart Brothers
In independent bottling company established in 1988 by Alistair and Donald Hart. It is based in East Kilbride and its flagship brand is its Hart Brothers Finest Collection single casks label. It also offers a variety of premium releases and blended Scotch bottlings too.

When browsing the bidding history on a specific lot, the list of recent bidders is shown as 'anonymised bidders' with the exception of any bids placed through your account - which would appear as your username.
When logged into your account your bids are shown with your username, however, other users are not able to see this and you will appear as an 'anonymised bidder'.
