Glenmorangie Astar

The follow up from the Glenmorangie Artisan cask, the Glenmorangie Astar is the first bottling released under Glenmorangie's desirable Private Collection Range.

Astar, in Gaelic it means “journey”.  It refers to the journey of perfection that Glenmorangie is working to discover in their search for the perfect casks to mature whisky.

Arran 1996 Single Cask 17 Year Old

Single cask #538 was filled on 17th June 1996 and bottled on 9th September 2013.

Bottle 009/141

Arran 1998 SMWS 15 Year Old 121.72

Distilled on 31st December 1998 and bottled as a 15 year old by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society.

Otherwise known as a a Curious Camping Trip, this Arran was matured in refill ex-bourbon barrels.

Auchentoshan 1998 Fino Sherry Cask Festival 2010

Exclusive to the Auchentoshan distillery on the second whisky festival, held in 2010.

Matured in European oak fino sherry casks, distilled in 1998 and released as a 12 year old.

Glenfiddich Special Reserve 

An older 1990s bottling of Glenfiddich Special Reserve, presented in this triangular tin depciting oak and a peat fire.

Ardmore 1977 Gordon and Macphail

Distilled in 1977 and bottled by Gordon and Macphail.

As Auchentoshan's festival returns in 2012 after taking a year out the festival bottling also returns, with a special bottling of Auchentoshan Valinch.

Only 200 of this bottling were released, this is bottle number 60.

Ardmore 1986 100th Anniversary 12 Year Old

Famous for being the heart of the Teachers blend, Ardmore was rarely recognised as a single malt until recently. 

This 12 year old distilled in 1986 was bottled to commemorate the 100^th anniversary of the distillery in 1999 (built in 1899). 

Glenmorangie Millenium Malt 12 Year Old

A special bottling of Glenmorangie to commemorate our progression into the 21st century, this is made up of only whisky from first fill casks.

Glenrothes 1992

Distilled in on 25th May 1992 and bottled in 2006, approved on 25th January 2004 by John Ramsay.

Arran 1997 Single Cask La Maison Du Whisky 16 Year Old

A single cask Arran distilled on 14th April 1997 and bottled on the 24th March 2014.

Bottled from a single Sherry hogshead 1997/533 this is bottle number 168 of 246.

Known as the  'Exotic' this single malt was partially matured in American oak hogsheads, American oak barrels and ex-Spanish sherry butts.

Glenfarclas 700th Anniversary of the Battle of Bannockburn

Bottled to commemorate the 700th Anniversary of the Battle of Bannockburn in 1314, this Glenfarclas was exclusively bottled for The Stirling Whisky Shop.

Selected from cask numbers 13 and 14 (Clever!), distilled in 2007 and bottled in 2014.

Glengoyne 17 Year Old (Old Style)

Glengoyne 17 year old has always been a popular expression in the Glengoyne range, now discontinued and replaced with an 18 year old.  This packaging is going back a few years now, towards the 1990s.

Arran Millenium Casks

A memorable mix of 10 sherry hogsheads and 35 bourbon barrels, the Arran Millenium casks were distilled and filled into these casks on the 31^st December 1999 and 1^st January 2000. 

A limited release of 7,800 bottles.

The fourth edition of the Peter Arkle series created by An Cnoc and this famous Scottish illustrator, Peter Arkle.  

Limited to 6,000 bottles.

Ardbeg Corryvreckan 

Ardbeg Corryvreckan is named after the famous whirlpool to the north of Islay. 

This is the official release of Corryvreckan following the Committee bottling.

This expression joined the Ardbeg 10 year old and Uigeadail as an ongoing product, replacing the Airgh Nam Beist. This Ardbeg was matured in predominantly French oak casks and ex-bourbon American oak casks.

Glenkinchie 1987 Gordon and Macphail Secret Stills 

Unofficially this is a Glenkinchie (a distillery situated near Pencaitland and commonly known as the 'Edinburgh Malt' bottled under Gordon and Macphail's Secret Still series as distillery number 05 and bottling number 01.  

600 bottles were produced from two casks distilled in December 1987 and bottled in May 2007, matured in refill sherry hogsheads.

Please note there are a few tears on the rear of the label.

Ardbeg 10 Year Old Tribal Edition Including Ardbeg Calender

An example of Ardbeg 10 year old in some fancy packaging, prepared exclusive for the Whisky Store, Germany.

The Tribal Edition was released in 2010 carries an official 'Ardbeg seal stamp' as shown in the photo.
