The Last Drop 50 Year Old / with Miniature 5cl

An amazing blend, not only because the whisky is 50 years old but because it contains over 50 whiskies including many from now closed distilleries. The whiskies were blended at birth - something rarely seen these days which means that for 50 years the flavours have been harmonising and interacting with each other. The majority of this was sold as a 30 year old in 1995, but the remainder was given a secondary maturation in Oloroso sherry casks for a further 20 years.

Bottled by hand in 2015 and sealed with wax, the bottle of The Last Drop 50 Year Old nestles in a luxurious leather case, along with a 50ml miniature, so that owners can taste this magnificent liquid before deciding to open the bottle.

You will also find within the box a special compartment containing a signed and numbered leather-bound book, certifying your bottle of The Last Drop 50 Year Old, and with room for your own tasting notes as you explore this extraordinary blend.

Bottle number 822 of 898.

Talisker 1978 40 Year Old Bodega Series No. 1

A beautifully-presented addition to the upper end of Talisker's range.

The Bodega Series aims to re-imagine the flavour profile of older, heavily-sherried Talisker whilst using modern techniques.

This first release of three in the series pays tribute to the Delgado bodega, the oldest in the region around Jerez. Delgado's speciality is Amontillado, and five of their most special casks were used for this Talisker's final period of maturation.

Bottle number 1402 of only 2000.

Dalmore 1963 Cadenhead's 15 Year Old

As Scotland’s oldest independent bottler, Cadenhead’s have long been known for releasing stunning whiskies but none more so than those from their famous ‘dumpy’ series, which features some incredible 1950s and 60s vintages. Whisky from this bygone era of production have become increasingly elusive in recent years, making them exceptionally desirable.

This Dalmore was distilled in November 1963 and bottled in November 1978 .

Dunville's VR Old Irish Whisky circa 1910/1920s

A fantastic example of Dunville's VR Old Irish Whisky, produced at the distillery in Belfast.

A gold medal winner at the 1900 Paris Exhibition, the company went into liquidation in 1936 following the death of the chairman and the last Dunville heir.

Unlike other Irish distillers of this era, the company was actually quite profitable when it went into liquidation.

Eagle Rare 15 Year Old 107 Proof 1990s / Japanese Import

An old 1990 bottling of Eagle Rare for the Japanese market. Eagle Rare was originally developed by Seagram's in an effort to capitalise on what it felt were the popular motifs used by the Wild Turkey brand.

This bottle however was produced by the Sazerac company, who purchased the brand from Seagram's in 1989, just one year earlier. They were without a distillery at this point however, as it was not until 1992 that that they acquired George T. Stagg (now Buffalo Trace). Most Sazerac company bourbon from this era therefore was sourced form Heaven Hill in Bardstown.

Daftmill 2005 Inaugural Release

Daftmill was granted a license to begin producing spirit in 2005, and has not bottled a single drop of that first distillate until now. This 12 year old expression is an unprecedentedly well-aged first release, and is a vatting of 3 casks, #02, #03 and #07, all filled in that first year of production.

Daftmill is a farm distillery, owned and run by the Cuthbert family, who grow all of the barley used in their whisky on-site. The distillery is only operational during the farm's quiet periods in mid-summer and mid-winter, sometimes producing as few as 100 casks per year. This first release is no heralding of an opening of the floodgates then, and future Daftmill releases should prove every bit as difficult to come by, and as sought after as this, the first. A true boutique product.

The Chariot barley used for this bottling was harvested in 2014 from the farm's Dam Park and Curling Pond fields. It was malted locally in Fife by Robert Kilgour & co, some of the last in fact, as that company has long since closed down.

This is bottle number 160 of just 629.

Elijah Craig 1991 Single Barrel 20 Year Old

Elijah Craig is one of the flagship brands produced by Heaven Hill, named after an 18th century pastor, often cited (although probably incorrectly) as the first man to distil bourbon in the US.

This is a 20 year old and was matured in a single new charred oak barrel.

Distilled on 15th of March 1991 and filled into barrel #12.

This single barrel was filled at the old Heaven Hill distillery in Bardstown. Production has since moved to Bernheim in Louisville since the site this was distilled at burned down in 1996. A true collector's piece!

According to the front label, the barrel was part of the same batch that produced Whisky Advocate's American Whiskey of the Year in 2011.
