Whisky Connoisseur Birds of Britain Miniatures 7 x 5cl

An interesting lot of seven of the 12 bottles in the Whisky Connoisseur's Birds of Britain series, a selection of single malts from undisclosed distilleries.

Presented here are number 1, 4-6, 8 and 10-11.

An old blend, rarely seen at auction. This example of White Heather is likely from the 1970's.

Wolfburn Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Located in Thurso, this is the northernmost distillery on the UK mainland. Based around a long lost distillery that ended around 1850, this new Wolfburn reopened in 2013.

This is one of their first single malt releases.

Pinhook 3 Year Old Straight Bourbon Fall 2018 / Bourbon Country

An adventurous young whiskey making company, Pinhook takes it's name for the art of identifying which young horses will be future winners based on their look, build and bloodline. 

Each release features an up-and-coming young thoroughbred on the label and represents the companies approach to acquiring maturing and releasing whiskes. 

Their releases have gathered quite the following and are highly sought after.

This fall 2018 release. Bourbon County was distilled at MGP from a mashbill of 75% corn, 20.5% rye and 4.5% malted barley and aged 3 or more years at Castle and Key in Kentucky, the former Old Taylor distillery.

Wolfburn Northland Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Located in Thurso, this is the northernmost distillery on the UK mainland. Based around a long lost distillery that ended around 1850, this new Wolfburn reopened in 2013.

This is one of their first ongoing release.

Wild Turkey 101 Proof Kentucky Straight Rye 1 Litre

The Wild Turkey distillery was built in 1869 in Tyrone, Kentucky. The name wasn’t Wild Turkey until 1941 when some shared on a hunting trip was referred to as \"some of that wild turkey whiskey\". 

Wild Turkey are one of the few Kentucky distilleries that distill their own rye whiskey, and it is highly regarded as well.

Bottled at their traditional 101 US proof from #4 char barrels.

Wedgwood 30 Year Old Blended Scotch / Queen's Diamond Jubilee 2012

A well-aged blend produced to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee (a 50 year reign) in 2012.

Presented in a Wedgwood decanter. 

Wolfburn Aurora Single Malt

Located in Thurso, this is the Northern most distillery on the UK manland. Based around a long lost distillery that ended around 1850, this new Wolfburn reopened in 2013. 

This is release is matured in a a combonation of different casks... 

40% matured in 2nd filled quarter casks

40% matured in 1st fill ex bourbon barrels

20% 1st fill oloroso sherry hogsheads. 

Plym Dry Gin 1970s

A bottling of Dry Gin, we estimate this to be from the 1970s. Produced under license and control of Coates & Co. (Plymouth) Ltd. 

Italian bottling. 

Poit Dhubh 12 Year Old

A blend of single malt whiskies, produced by The Gaelic Whisky Company. 

Pogues Irish Whiskey

A blended Irish whiskey produced by West Cork Distillers in collaboration with the legendary punk band The Pogues.

Presumably this was the last of the batch that Shane MacGowan hadn't already consumed...

The Wild Turkey distillery, then known as Boulevard, was built in 1869 in Tyrone, Kentucky. The name was not Wild Turkey until 1941 when some, shared on a hunting trip, was referred to as \"some of that wild turkey whiskey\". 

This is the classic 8 year old expression, bottled at 101 US proof.

Please note: this lot was updated on 02/11/18 to reflect the fact that this is a more modern bottling, not a 1992 one like originally stated.

White Horse America's Cup Scotch Whisky 1987

A limited edition bottle of White Horse for the 1987 America's Cup.

Plantation 2001 Jamaica Rum

A 2001 vintage rum produced in Jamaica. The Plantation brand is owned by the West Indies Rum Refinery in Barbados, which has shares in both Monymusk and Long Pond. This is likely a vatting of rum from both.

Woodford Reserve Master's Collection / Seasoned Oak Finish

The Woodford Reserve brand is produced by the Brown-Forman company, typically using column still whiskey from their Shively distillery, and pot still whiskey from the historic Woodford Reserve distillery in Versailles (formerly Old Oscar Pepper, and Labrot & Graham), which they re-opened in 1993.

This is a special release that has been aged a second time in charred American oak barrels.

William Peel 8 Year Old Speyside Single Malt

One of the biggest Scotch brands in France, which is the biggest Scotch market in the world. 

This is an 8 year old Speyside single malt.

A bottle of White Horse blended whisky from the 1980's.

Pikesville 4 Year Old Supreme Straight Rye

An old bottling of the much loved and sorely missed Pikesville Supreme straight rye whiskey.

Pikesville rye was originally distilled in Maryland but was later produced by Heaven Hill. This was bottled in the 2000s, and likely contains some of the first rye whiskey distilled by Heaven Hill at their new home at Bernheim distillery, purchased from United Distillers (now Diageo) in 1999.

This much loved iteration of the brand was discontinued in 2015.

William Lawson's 13 Year Old / Bourbon Cask Finished
