Park and Tilford 1951 'Mr Park' Bottled in Bond 5 Year Old

A fascinating 1950's bottling from one of the lesser known bourbon brands. Park & Tilford were established in 1840 and were one of the few companies to survive prohibition, even at one point purchasing Old Overholt and Pennsylvania's Large distillery in 1925, although subsequently surrendering them to the superior financial muscle of the newly formed National Distillers just two years later.

This bottle was distilled in 1951 at the Bonnie Bros distillery in Louisville, KY, which Park and Tilford procured in 1938, resurrecting it from its Prohibition induced closure. It was bottled in bond 5 years later, in 1956.

The bourbon is named Mr. Park, after one half of its eponymous founding duo.

Bottled at 100 proof and presented in a nice lock and key box.

Jameson Three Star 7 Year Old circa 1960s

A nice old bottling of Jameson, bottled during the 1960s, produced at the old Jameson distillery on Bow Street, prior to the move to Midleton in 1975. John Jameson & Son began exporting distillery bottled Three Star, likely as far back as the 19th century. It was made in quintessentially Irish fashion, in copper pots from a mash of malted and unmalted cereals. Bow Street pot still whiskey is prized by the Irish as the ultimate drop, just as Stitzl-Weller distilled bourbon is in America.

Bears the slogan \"Not a drop is sold til it's seven years old.\" This whiskey is actually a blend of various pot still, only the youngest of which is 7 years old and has an unusual mash bill that includes wheat and oats as well as malted barley. Jameson was famous the world over for this particular expression and it was a sad day for many an Irish whisky connoisseur when the decision was made to discontinue to the line in 1968, in favour of the more internationally-appealing Red Seal, which was to become the famous Jameson Irish Whiskey we know today.

Bidding advice

You can place bids either under the lot image on the main auction page or on the right side of the individual lot page.

Placing a Maximum Bid
Use the "Set your bid limit" button on the left side of the bidding panel to enter the highest amount you're willing to bid on a lot. Our system will then automatically raise your bid in set increments if you’re outbid, up to your maximum. If someone bids above your set limit, we’ll notify you by email so you can choose whether to increase your bid.

Placing a Single Bid
Alternatively, place a single bid by selecting the button on the right side of the bidding panel. The button displays the amount needed for the next increment. For example, if the current highest bid is £50.00, the button will show "+ £55.00" (reflecting a £5.00 increment).
