Viña Pomal 1969 Rioja Crianza 2x75cl

Viña Pomal is one of the cellars owned by Bodegas Bilbainas, located by the historic wine-town of Haro in the northwest of the Rioja Alta subregion.

This wine is of Crianza classification, 100% Tempranillo, aged for 12 months in American oak barrels, from the 1969 vintage.

Bailie Nicol Jarvie

The now discontinued blend, which allegedly had 60% malt content and was at least 8 years old.

Please note this is not the official box as the Bailie Nicol Jarvie was never released in a box. 

Bruichladdich Links 'Birkdale, England' 15 Year Old

The Bruichladdich Links collection was created in partnership with Graeme Baxter the famous Golf Course artist.

Releasing 9 whiskies featuring different golf courses, this is the final edition featuring Birkdale.

Viña Tondonia Reserva 1983

Bodegas López de Heredia is located by Haro, in the heart of the Rioja Alta region.  One of the first 3 commercial wine houses to be built, the history and success of the region and the estate are closely linked.

Viña Tondonia is one of the cellars of the renowned Rioja estate, Bodegas López de Heredia.  A blend of Tempranillo (75%), Garnacho (15%), Graciano and Mazuelo together contributing only 10%, aged in oak barrels for 6 years.

Benchmark Premium Kentucky Bourbon 

The benchmark brand was introduced by Seagrams in 1968, and was produced primarily at their Louisville distillery.Originally the whisky was offered at both 80 and 86 proof, this is an example of the 80 proof version.

The brand moved to New Orleans when purchased by Sazerac in 1989, and eventually started to be produced at Buffalo Trace as McAfee’s Benchmark.

Viña Tondonia 6 Year Old Rioja​

Bodegas López de Heredia is located by Haro, in the heart of the Rioja Alta region.  One of the first 3 commercial wine houses to be built, the history and success of the region and the estate are closely linked.

The neck label states this wine to be a Crianza classification, meaning it has spent a minimum period of 12 months in oak and a further minimum period of 12 month in the bottle prior to release; however, the main label states \"6 ano\" indicating it has been aged for 6 years - presumably in oak barrels, which would usually classify it as a Gran Reserva rather than Crianza.

[GEEK EDIT]:  The current terminology of Crianza, Reserva & Gran Reserva only came into use following a Royal-Decree in 1979, prior to which the term \"Crianza\" meant simply that the wine had been aged in oak barrels.  Don Pedro López Heredia, lawyer and co-owner of Viña Tondonia, was notable in his objection to this new system of labelling and so continued to label his wines as before: with the neck-label stating \"Crianza\" (ie. \"Aged in oak\") and main-label stating \"6 ano\" (6 years).
