Laphroaig 1960 Vintage Reserve 40 Year Old

A vintage release of Laphroaig distilled in 1960 and bottled as a 40 year old. Laphroaig this age is incredibly rare!

Distilled in 1960 and presented with a certificate from distillery manager Iain Henderson, the casks were matured for 40 years in warehouse #1. This is the first release from Oddbins and the far more limited of the two. 

This is bottle 016 of 300.

Laphroaig 40 Year Old

Distilled in 1960, this 40 year old was the official release following the 1960 vintage 40 year old at Oddbins.

The casks were matured in Warehouse #1 for 40 years, prior to bottling on 29th May 2001.  A mere 3,300 bottles of this Laphroaig 40 year old were made available and it remains the oldest official release of Laphroaig to date.

This is bottle number 0010.

Ardbeg 1992 Single Cask 31 Year Old #2780

A single cask Ardbeg, distilled on 27th October 1972 and bottled at over 30 years old on 14th October 2004, from single cask #2780, a Bourbon Hogshead.

Ardbeg 1974 Provenance 26 Year Old 75cl / US Import

One of the legendary Ardbeg Provenance bottlings, distilled in 1974 and matured for 26 years until being released in early 2000, imported into the US by Brown-Forman, this is the fourth release.

These whiskies are highly acclaimed and desirable, including certificate and tartan insert.

This bottle carries the bottling date of 21st September 2000 and is bottle number 5672 bottled at 55.0%.

Please note the condition of the box, one hinge has fallen off.

Ardbeg Auriverdes Gold Edition

This shiny Ardbeg Auriverdes, launched on 31st May 2014 on 'Ardbeg Day' which coincides with the 'Ardbeg Day' with the Islay Festival.  

A very rare bottle, this Auriverdes was never made available to the public, it was only given to Journalists, Bloggers and Distillery Ambassadors before the official release at the end of May 2014.

The Auriverdes (Auri = Gold and Verdes = Green) is named after the Brazilian sports teams colours whilst also referring to Ardbeg's iconic green bottle and the 'golden' whisky inside.

12 casks were hand chosen to be released exclusively for the Ardbeg committee in 2001.

Matured in bourbon casks, only 2,500 bottles were produced and hand signed by Stuart Thomson.

Laphroaig 80 Proof / 20 Under Proof Miniature 1960s

This is about as rare a miniature as you can find, dated to 1966 kindly by Marcel Van Gils and Hans Offringa Legend of Laphroaig's book, this is a wonderfully preserved miniature of Laphroaig.

The label reads, Old Scotch Whisky Laphroaig 80 Proof.

Strength is 20 under proof.

This has been stored within an exceptional collection of miniatures. A very very rare item we are excited to offer this in our latest auction, particularly alongside another stunning example of Laphroaig's history, in miniature - a 1960s bottling of Islay Mist.

A single cask Ardbeg, distilled on 7th December 1995 and bottled on 3rd March 2010, from single cask #2761 a second fill bourbon barrel.

A bottle of the first ever distillers edition which was distilled in 1979 and bottled in 1997.

Finished in Pedro Ximenez casks.

Ardbeg Young Uigeadail (The Oogling)

TThe very desirable Ardbeg Oogling, only available to the Ardbeg Committee, with a very limited 1,392 bottles being released in 2006.

Three ex-bourbon hosghead of Very Young Ardbeg were married with one sherry butt distilled in 2002.

Ladyburn 1973 27 Year Old Single Cask

The Ladyburn Distillery was built in 1966 by William Grant & Sons Ltd and only operated for a very short period until November 15th 1975.  

Their have been very few bottlings from Ladyburn, this official single cask release is part of 18 single casks from 1973 bottled in 2000, a release totaling 3,000 bottles. Each individual bottle carries the bottling number and cask it originated from.

This is bottle number 125 from cask number 3177. 

The first ever Single Cask bottling from Ladyburn.

Longmorn Centenary 25 Year Old​

A unique release of Longmorn bottled to commemorate the centenary of Longmorn distillery in 1995.

This bottle was never made available to the general public, they were given to employees and dignitaries of the company.

Lagavulin 1978 Kingsbury's 14 Year Old

This was bottled by Kingsbury who mostly export to Japan, they are a widely sought after independant bottler, with many amazing vintage whiskies from the 1990s.

This 1978 vintage Lagavulin, was distilled on the 1st December and bottled in 1992 from a single ex-Bourbon cask which yielded only 132 bottles.

Please note that this bottle was received with some minor leakage, which Whisky Auctioneer is not responsible for in further transit.  Please also pay close attention to the images for the condition of this lot.

Ardbeg Committee Reserve 2002

Released strictly for the Ardbeg Committee in 2002, this was a non-age statement whisky made up whiskies from the 1970’s, 1980’s and 1990’s. 

Only 3000 bottles were released.
