Remy Martin Centaure XO Fine Champagne Cognac 1980s

Rémy Martin Centaure XO is a Fine Champagne Cognac which predates the current Excellence.

The brand was revived in 2011 for the Asian and Duty Free Market but this bottle dates to the 1980s.

Rebel Yell Kentucky Straight Bourbon 1990s

The Rebel Yell brand was created for Stitzel-Weller distillery in the late 1940s by Charles R. Farnsely, a former mayor of Louisville, KY. The brand was first bottled around the distillery's 100th anniversary, with the intention of producing and distributing it in small batches, exclusively in the Southern states.

Following the sale of Stitzel-Weller and subsequently many of its associated brands in 1972, Rebel Yell was eventually purchased by what is now Luxco in the early 1980s, who continue to produce it today using sourced whiskey from Heaven Hill. This early 1990s bottling would have been produced at the old Heaven Hill plant in Bardstown, before they moved to Bernheim later that decade.

Islay Mist Deluxe 75cl / US Import

Islay Mist was originally created on Islay in 1922 to celebrate the 21st birthday of Lord Margadale, the theory was that the intensity of the Islay malts might be too much for all the guests to handle. So, at the time some Speyside whisky and a grain whisky were blended with some Islay malts to create Islay Mist.

This is a recent bottling by Macduff International. To this day the blend still uses Laphroaig as its key ingredient.

Imperial 1995 Signatory Vintage 20 Year Old Cask Strength

Mothballed in 1998, Imperial distillery has been completely demolished and is becoming increasingly sought after. 

Distilled on 18th September 1995 and bottled 31st August 2016 by Signatory Vintage as part of their elegantly packaged Cask Strength Collection.

Matured in hogsheads #50268 and #50269.

Jim Murray awarded  this bottle Second best whisky in the world and Irish Whiskey of the Year in Jim Murray's Whisky Bible 2017 with a whooping 97 points.

Ichiro's Malt Wine Wood Reserve

Rumoured to be a vatting of the closed Japanese distillery of Hanyu with that of the relatively young distillery of Chichibu, where this whisky was matured, married and bottled.​

Given that this was first released in 2010 and and Hanyu has become thinner on the ground since, we can only assume the Hanyu content has or will eventually be removed.

When that will happen or if it has already happened is unclear. 

Finished in French oak wine casks.

A well-aged Imperial bottled for Elixir Distillers.

Distilled 4th July 1995 and matured in barrel #5410, before being bottled on 26th June 2018.

Rumoured to be a vatting of the closed Japanese distillery of Hanyu with that of the relatively young distillery of Chichibu, where this whisky was matured, married and bottled.​

The Diageo 2018 collaboration with HBO sees their Classic Malts range reimagined as being somehow related to the landed houses of the Game of Thrones television series.

It may be tenuous, but we love it all the same. 

Images of Islay 1995 / Round Church of Bowmore

An unusual bottle of mystery single malt by Malts of Scotland, part of their 'Images of Islay' series. 

Distilled in 1995 and bottleds in 2013 this is one of 178 bottles.

We don't know which of Islay's distilleries this was distilled at but what we do know is tyhat it has s lovely picture of the famous round church in the town of Bowmore.

Imperial 1995 Gordon and MacPhail

Distilled in 1995 and bottled in 2013 from single cask #4892 by Gordon & MacPhail as part of their Reserve series.

Mothballed in 1998, Imperial distillery has since been completely demolished and is becoming increasingly sought after.

Ramazzotti Felsina Amaro 1950s

A Liqueur produced at some point in the 1950s in Milan, Italy by Fratelli Ramazzotti.

Bottled in 2008 this is number 2441 of 6540.

Rebel Yell 10 Year Old Single Barrel Bourbon

The Rebel Yell brand was created for Stitzel-Weller distillery in the late 1940s by Charles R. Farnsely, a former mayor of Louisville, KY. The brand was first bottled around the distillery's 100th anniversary, with the intention of producing and distributing it in small batches, exclusively in the Southern states.

Following the sale of Stitzel-Weller and subsequently many of its associated brands in 1972, Rebel Yell was eventually purchased by what is now Luxco in the early 1980s, who continue to produce it today using sourced whiskey from Heaven Hill. This is a 10 year old single barrel, distilled in May 2006 and bottled from barrel #5043527.

Luxco opened their own distillery, Lux Row in Kentucky at the beginning of 2018, so will one day be bottling their own bourbon for the first time.

Red Spot 15 Year Old Irish Whiskey

This single pot still whiskey was distilled at Midleton, and has been matured in a combination of American bourbon, Spanish sherry and Sicilian Marsala casks. 

The Red Spot was originally discontinued by Irish Distillers in the 1960s and has just been brought back from the grave.
