Karuizawa 1999/2000 Asama 46%

Named after the active volcano located near the now closed distillery, this single malt is comprised of 1999 and 2000 vintages which were some of the last the distillery produced.

The whisky has been matured in European oak sherry wood and was bottled in 2012.

Karuizawa produced outstanding whiskies, many of which have received international acclaim. They have released almost 300 single casks which are becoming increasingly rarer and rarer as demand soars.

This limited bottling was selected from spirit distilled in 1999 & 2000, matured in European Oak Sherry Casks and bottled in 2012.

This release was an exclusive bottling for The Whisky Exchange (Speciality Drinks.)

Glen Garioch 1975 Moon Import / The Birds II

Moon Import was founded by Pepi Mongiardino in 1980. Heeding the advice of the late, great, Silvano Samaroli, he opted to be \"free from the big companies,\" and became the official distributor for Islay's Bruichladdich, and later Tamnavulin and Tullibardine, preferring however to procure casks from private owners. Mongiardino bottled his first whisky in 1982, titled the Half Moon series. Always beautifully labelled, Pepi is acclaimed for designing the packaging for Moon Import bottles himself, using images found in old books. The famous Birds, Animals, Costumes and Sea series were all labelled using pictures he discovered in an 18th century German encyclopaedia. These iconic designs, coupled with the quality of the liquid saw Moon Import steadily grow in popularity, and with the help of Intertrade founder, Nadi Fiori, they exported their first bottles to Japan in 2001. 

Mongiardino bottled two The Birds series, the first in 1987, and the second where this was included, in 1990.

George T Stagg 2006 Release

The 2006 edition of George T Stagg from Buffalo Trace, released as part of the annual Antique Collection at their usual impressive strength, this time at 69.05%.

The Antique Collection celebrates historic US whiskey brands, figures and places. George T. Stagg was a 19th century distiller, and the Buffalo Trace distillery was named after him for most of the 20th century, becoming Ancient Age in 1983 and adopting its current title in 1999.

This bottling of the annual release is a 15 year old.

Glendronach 1991 Kingsman Edition 25 Year Old

Personally selected by film director Matthew Vaughn to mark the release of Kingsman: The Golden Circle, this limited edition Highland single malt from The GlenDronach Distillery was born in the same year as the movie protagonist and Kingsman agent, Gary \"Eggsy\" Unwin.

Distilled in 1991 and matured in the finest sherry casks for more than 25 years, each one of the 2,000 bottles is hand-numbered by Vaughn and Glendronach master blender Rachel Barrie and presented in a bespoke green display case and adorned by a gold metal Kingsman charm.

Glen Grant 1957 Gordon and MacPhail

A vintage Glen Grant, distilled in 1957 bottled by Gordon & MacPhail.

This is part of the Gordon & MacPhail Distillery Labels series, which replicates the livery the Elgin-based bottlers used in the mid-20th century when they produced the only official bottlings (under license) for many distilleries like this.

Glenmorangie 1981 Sauternes Wood Finish

Another legendary Glenmorangie in this auction, limited to only 4,000 bottles.

This Glenmorangie was distilled in 1981 and spent the final two years of maturation in Chateau d'Yquem Sauternes casks.

Glen Avon 15 Year Old Gordon and MacPhail Cask Strength / Sestante Import

A wonderful old bottling of a mystery Speyside by Gordon and MacPhail, specially bottled for Sestante in Italy.

The Sestante import company was founded in the 1970s by Ernesto Mainardi, and he bottled his first single casks under the name in 1985. Alongside his contemporary, Silvano Samaroli, Mainardi pioneered giving his customers a choice of both standard 40-46% bottlings, and cask strength releases from the same casks. Along with his other brand, Silver Seal, Mainardi's bottlings are incredibly sought after.

This is a cask strength version of the 15 year old. Mainardi has previously stated that Glen Avon was Glenfsrclas single malt, but this has never been confirmed (or denied) by Gordon & MacPhail.

Mainardi imported a lot of Glen Avon in the 1980s, bottling several spectacular dark sherry casks in his famous crystal decanters.

Glenlivet 1968 Duncan Taylor 38 Year Old

A fantastic bottling of Glenlviet from Duncan Taylor.

Distilled in October 1968 and bottled in February 2007 after 38 years in sherry cask #6199.

A very old bottle of Glenfarclas from the 1970's with the rare screen printed label.

Glenmorangie 2001 Single Cask 16 Year Old / 175th Anniversary

Bottled in March 2018, this is a special single cask release to commemorate the 175th anniversary of Glenmorangie distillery.

Distilled in September 2001 and matured fully in a 1st fill bourbon cask. The cask was hand-select by Dr. Bill Lumsden for this special release.

Glenfarclas 1968 Single Cask #689 / Private Selection No.1

A special cask of Glenfarclas for a special fan of Glenfarclas! Selected by one of the most avid collectors of Glenfarclas, Luc Timmermans.

Distilled in February 1968 and bottled in April 2005. Cask number #689 produced 152 bottles.

Glenury Royal 1971 Rare Malt 23 Year Old / 61.3%

The Rare Malt Selection is a historic selection of single malt whiskies from operational and lost distilleries that were released by Diageo between 1995 and 2005.

One of the few official bottlings of Glenury Royal released at 23 years old within the famous Rare Malts Selection.  

Distilled in 1971.

A Glen Grant bottled at 38 years old in the 1970's by Elgin based bottler Gordon & MacPhail.

Glass code SC 803 was produced 1976-79 which indicates that this particular bottle may contain whisky distilled at Glen Grant in the late 1920s or early 1930s!

Glenrothes 1969 Duncan Taylor 40 Year Old

Distilled in July 1969 and bottled April 2010 by Duncan Taylor.

One of only 101 bottles drawn from single cask 12884.

Glen Grant 1972 Whisky Agency 39 Year Old / Perfect Dram

The Perfect Dram is a series of independent bottlings produced for the Whisky Agency in Germany.

Distilled in 1972 in Speyside at the Glen Grant distillery, this was bottled at 39 years old in 2011 at Spirits in the Sky Leuven.

One of 119 bottles filled at cask strength from an ex-sherry cask.

Glenfarclas 1970 Cask Strength Single Cask

Matured exclusively in Sherry Cask # 2018 after being distilled on the 16th March 1970. Bottled on the 23rd March 1999 at cask strength making this a 29 year old, albeit just by a couple of days.

A very rare bottling of Kinclaith, Glasgow's last malt whisky distillery which lay within the Strathclyde distilling complex.

This sumptuous looking Glen Grant was distilled in 1962 and bottled by Murray McDavid.

Glen Grant 1969 Samaroli 9 Year Old Sherry Wood  / Cadenhead's 1979

This legendary bottling company was established in 1968 by Silvano Samaroli, in Bologna, Italy.

Silvano Samaroli began his career in the whisky industry as an importer in 1968, operating as the Italian agent for Speyside's Linkwood distillery. This 1979 bottling of Glen Grant is part of his first foray into the independent bottling scene. The series comprises of two Springbank, as well as a Macallan, Highland Park and Glenlivet, among others. They were bottled for him by Cadenhead's, in the classic brown dumpy glass of the era, using unique labels that Samaroli had designed himself.

Kinclaith 1966 Gordon and MacPhail 16 Year Old / Co. Pinerolo Import

A very rare bottling of Kinclaith, Glasgow's last malt whisky distillery which lay within the Strathclyde distilling complex.

The Connoisseurs Choice label is one of the most recognisable independent bottlings on the market. It was initially created for renowned Italian importer, Edoardo Giaccone in the early 1970s, but became a mainstay of the core Gordon & MacPhail portfolio in 1979.

Glen Mhor 1974 Sestante 13 Year Old

A 13 year old expression from the long closed Highland distillery, Glen Mhor. Bottled by the legendary Italian importers, Sestante.

The Sestante import company was founded in the 1970s by Ernesto Mainardi, and he bottled his first single casks under the name in 1985.
