An old bottling of Talisker from Gordon and MacPhail. 

Distilled in 1957 and bottled at cask strength as part of the Original 'Cask' series in 1989.

Talisker 1990 Casks of Distinction 28 Year Old #6559

A single cask Talisker, distilled in 1990 and matured in a refill butt (#6559).

This Talisker is part of Diageo's Casks of Distinction programme. Casks of Distinction is the private sale of individual casks of rare and exceptional Single Malt Scotch Whisky from Diageo’s extensive stocks in Scotland. Hand selected by a team of whisky experts under guidance from Master Blender Dr. Craig Wilson, each cask is entirely unique and incredibly rare. Each Cask of Distinction is chosen on the basis of their quality, representing the most exceptional and singular expression of the distillery’s character.

Bottled in 2018, this is bottle number 158 of 204. 

Talisker 8 Year Old Pure Malt 1960s / Grandi Marche Francesi Import

This 8 year old Talisker was bottled for the Distillers Agency Ltd and predates the 1970s inclusion of 'The Golden Spirit of the Isle of Skye' motto.

An excellent example of Talisker from this era, this was imported to Italy in the 1960s by Grandi Marche Francesi.

Talisker 1952 Gordon and MacPhail

This Talisker was distilled on Skye in 1952 and by Gordon and MacPhail using the famous eagle label used for their semi-official bottlings from the 1960s though to the 1980s.

This was bottled as a circa 38 year old in 1990.

Talisker 1953 Gordon and MacPhail 24 Year Old / Co. Pinerolo Import

This Talisker was distilled on Skye in 1953 and bottled as 24 year old by Gordon and MacPhail using their Connoisseur's Choice branding in the 1970s.

Bottle number 1730.

Pinerolo Italian Import. These particular bottlings all scored between 90 and 94 points when reviewed by Serge Valentin for Whiskyfun.com. Very impressive indeed!

Teaninich 1973 Samaroli / Curved Distillery Label

A 1973 vintage bottling from Speyside distillery Teaninich and bottled by Samaroli in 1998.

Samaroli is perhaps Italy's most revered independent bottler of Scotch whisky. With an impeccable taste in single cask whiskies, and an eye for aesthetics (if not English spelling at times!), he is regarded by many as a visionary. Many of his bottles now occupy deserved sports on the pantheon of whisky greats.

Matured in cask #13667, this is bottle number 208 of 270.

Talisker 8 Year Old Gordon and MacPhail 80 Proof 1970s

An 8 year old bottling of sherry wood matured Talisker single malt, distilled on the Isle of Skye and bottled in the 1970s.

Gordon & MacPhail are the only independent company to have bottled whisky under license from the distillery with an exclusive label, for many these were the only official bottlings available for a long time. The modern Distillery Labels series is an homage to these bottles, however they have not bottled any Talisker for many years.

This is part of Hunter Laing's Old & Rare series, a label they have bottled since 2013.

Distilled in December 1973 and bottled October 2014.

Tobermory 1972 Whisky-Doris 35 Year Old

A 1972 vintage single malt from Tobermory. This was the first year of production when the distillery re-openened, and interestingly it was briefly called Ledaig at this point. The name quickly reverted back to Tobermory however, with Ledaig living on as the name for their peated single malt.

Aged 35 years in a first fill dark sherry cask and bottled by Whisky-Doris in 2008.

Bottled around the 1940s. 

Tomatin 1967 Celtic Heartlands 40 Year Old

A 1967 vintage Tomatin, part of Jim McEwan's Celtic Heartlands series.

This was aged for 40 years and bottled in 2008.

Bottle 183 of 523.

The series includes other well-aged expressions from Banff, Bunnahabhain and Glenlivet.

Distilled in 1976 at the Tomatin distillery, this was bottled at 34 years old in 2011.

One of 24 bottles filled, specially for Gall & Gall Van der Boog.

Distilled in 1976 and matured in an ex-sherry butt, this was bottled at 34 years old in 2011.

This particular bottling scored a brilliant 92 points when reviewed on www.whiskyfun.com by Serge Valentin.

Talisker 1979 The Bottlers 22 Year Old​

A single cask Talisker, bottled by Raeburn Fine Wines as part of their The Bottlers series.

Distilled in 1979 and bottled in August 2001 from cask #4014, a refill sherry hogshead.

Tomatin 1962 Cadenhead's 27 Year Old

A 1962 vintage Tomatin, bottled in Septmber 1989.

Cadenhead's are Scotland's oldest independent bottler, operating for over 175 years, but perhaps none of their bottlings are as sought after as these 'dumpy' style bottles. All of these were produced with brown glass and an iconic black label, with each distillery given its own letterpress font in homage to William Cadenhead's early career in the printing business.

Thomas H Handy Sazerac Rye 2009 Release

Part of Buffalo Trace's annual Antique Collection. Bottled at 64.5% alcohol, they do get higher ABV than this but it's still impressive!

Buffalo Trace's Antique Collection celebrates various historic bourbon brands and figures. The Thomas H. Handy rye is named after the company's founder, and features an image of the eponymous Sazerac Coffee House on the bottle which is where everything started.

This particular expression was Jim Murray's second-best whisky in the world in 2011, scoring an impressive 97 points. 

Distilled in Spring 2002 and bottled in Fall (Autumn) 2009. 

Tamnavulin 1967 Duncan Taylor 37 Year Old

Distilled in April 1967 then matured in cask number 1018 until January 2005.

Talsiker 30 Year Old

Released in 2006, this is a 30 year old Talisker limited to just 3000 bottles.

This is bottle number 1127 of 3000.

Tomatin 1965 Duncan Taylor 40 Year Old

Part of their Rare Auld series, this is a single cask bottling of Tomatin from Duncan Taylor.

Distilled in January 1965 and bottled in January 2005 at cask strength.

Bottle 32 of 79 drawn from cask #1903.

Tomatin 1967 Single Cask #17904

Distilled in 1967 then matured in single cask number #17904 until the 12th of November 2008 when it was bottled. 

At over 40 years old, it's rare to see whisky this age these days.

A 1982 vintage, cask strength Talisker that was matured in bourbon casks and bottled at 20 years old. A really under-rated dram.
