Balvenie 17 Year Old Islay Cask

Released in 2003, this was the very first of the Balvenie 17 Year Old expressions.

''In the making of The Balvenie Islay Cask, David Stewart selected Balvenie single malt which had matured in traditional oak casks for at least 17 years and transferred it into 94 casks which had previously held Islay single malt. After six months he felt the casks had imparted the desired delicate amount of peaty notes, typical of Islay, whilst retaining the distinctively honeyed character of The Balvenie.''

Only 94 casks were ever produced.

Bowmore 1998 Hand Filled 20 Year Old Cask #58 / Sherry

This Bowmore was distilled on 13th January 1998 and matured in sherry cask #58. 

Bottled by hand at the distillery on 24th December 2018.

Bowmore 1996 Hand Filled 20 Year Old Cask #2534 / 1st Fill Oloroso Sherry​

A hand filled Bowmore available exclusively at the distillery.

Distilled on 17th September 1996 and bottled on 27th February 2017.

Cask #2534 was a first fill Oloroso sherry butt.

Distilled in 1976 and matured in Fino sherry casks.

This Blair Athol was distilled in 1975 and bottled as a 27 year old at 54.7%, this is bottle number 835.

A popular old blend that is rarely seen at auction.

As the label reads 'By Appointment to HM King George VI', we estimate this to be from th 1940's.

Banff 1979 Cheiftain's 23 Year Old

A very rare bottling of this lost highland distillery by Ian Macelod, part of their Cheiftain's range of whiskies.

Distilled in March 1979 from two casks # 476 and 499, this is one of 708 bottles.

Banff 1980 Duncan Taylor 26 Year Old

From the sought after closed Banff distillery, this is a single cask bottling from Huntly based independent bottler, Duncan Taylor.

Distilled in November 1980 and bottled November 2006 from cask #2913 after 26 years.

Bunnahabhain 1980 North Star 37 Year Old​

An indpendent bottling from Islay's Bunnahabhain distillery, produced by North Star Spirits in Glasgow.

Distilled in May 1980 and matured for 37 years, this is a single vintage vatting of refill hogsheads.

One of 140 bottles in Cask Series 004.

Bottled in February 2018.

Balblair 1983 1st Release

This vintage of Balblair was released in January 2013, replacing their 1975 and 1978 vintages.  The 1983 was matured in American oak bourbon barrels.

Bruichladdich 10 Year Old 1980s / Moon Import

Moon Import was founded by Pepi Mongiardino in 1980 and he bottled his first whisky in 1982. Always beautifully labelled, Pepi is acclaimed for designing the packaging for Moon Import bottles himself, often using images found in old books. These iconic designs, coupled with the quality of the liquid saw Moon Import steadily grow in popularity. The company is still going strong, and their early releases are some of the brightest gems in any whisky collection.

This was officially bottled for Mongiardino. He became the Bruichladdich distributor in the early 1980s, and imported their whisky for 5 years before selling the contract to Rinaldi.

In addition to the standard range, Mongiardino bottled outside of the standard 10, 15 and 17 year old Bruichladdich, which are well worth looking our for.

Blanton's Single Barrel Dumped 2018 / LMDW

First introduced by then Ancient Age distillery Master Distiller, Elmer T. Lee, Blanton's was the first single barrel bourbon popularised in the US. Ancient Age was renamed the Buffalo Trace distillery by the Sazerac company in 1999.

Normally a 6 to 8 year old bourbon, it is aged in Warehouse H at Buffalo Trace, which is the only metal-clad warehouse at the distillery, commissioned for construction by Albert B. Blanton, after whom the whiskey is named. The warehouse was built shortly after prohibition and being metal, transfers heat quicker than brick warehouses, allowing for more rapid ageing.

This is a 2018 bottling, dumped on the 23rd July and matured in barrel #884, which was specially selected for La Maison du Whisky in Paris.

Stored on rick number 45 and bottled at 55%. 

Each bottle of Blanton's has one of 8 different stoppers, each depicting a horse and jockey at a different stage of finishing a race. The designs are all lettered so that a complete set laid out side by side will spell \"BLANTONS.\" This stopper is letter A. 

Bowmore 1998 SMWS 19 Year Old 3.312

This Bowmore was distilled on 25th February 1998 and bottled 19 years later by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society.

Matured in a second-fill ex-bourbon barrel. 

One of 65 bottles.

Blair Athol 15 Year Old Manager's Dram 1996

The Manager’s Dram series of whiskies were bottled exclusively for employees of what is now known as Diageo. 

These whiskies were selected by the respective distillery managers within Diageo malt distilling and bottled at natural cask strength.

This particular release from Blair Athol is 15 year old, bottled in 1996 by distillery manager Gordon Donoghue.

Bowmore 1997 Douglas Laing 21 Year Old / Private Stock

An independent bottling from Islay's oldest distillery, Bowmore.

Distilled in July 1997 and bottled 21 years later in December 2018 by Douglas Laing as part of their specialist Private Stock range..

Bottle number 23 of only 51 hand filled bottles drawn from a single refill hogshead cask.

Balblair 1993 Gordon and MacPhail Cask Strength

Distilled on July 28th 1993 and bottled on November 10th 2014, this Balblair has been aged in a 1st fill sherry puncheon.

Cask strength and natural colour.

A 30 year old Ballantine's, one of the oldest releases in the Ballantine's range.

Aged examples are highly acclaimed with a number of their releases winning international awards for spirits.

Benromach 1978 Rare Malt 19 Year Old / 63.8%

The Rare Malt Selection is a historic selection of single malt whiskies from operational and lost distilleries that were released by Diageo between 1995 and 2005.

This Benromach was distilled in 1978 and bottled as a 19 year old at 63.8%.

Bowmore Devil's Casks 10 Year Old Batch #1

Released in October 2013, this release from Bowmore barely even reached retailer shelves. The Devil is rumoured to have escaped Bowmore in one of the distilleries casks, after being chased from the famous church in Bowmore; which has no corners so he was unable to hide there. 

This release was matured exclusively in first fill sherry casks and bottled at cask strength, It was very limited, with only 540 bottles available in the UK and no more than 6,000 worldwide.

Distilled in March 1974 and bottled in November 1988 by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society. 

Bruichladdich 1986 Valinch 100th Anniversary of Alfred Barnard's Distillery Visit

A very rare limited edition Valinch, distilled on the 100th Anniversary of Alfred BArnard's visit to Bruichladdich distillery as part of his epic tour of the distilleries of Ireland and the Uk between 1885-1886.

The bottling was carefully selected by Jim McEwan and whisky writer Malcolm Greenwood on the morning of Friday 10th August 2001. The presentation set includes a book by the latter.

Book and bottle are numbers 74 of 150.

Blair Athol 1975 Rare Malt 27 Year Old / 54.7%

The Rare Malt Selection is a historic selection of single malt whiskies from operational and lost distilleries that were released by Diageo between 1995 and 2005.

This Blair Athol was distilled in 1975 and bottled as a 27 year old at 54.7%, this is bottle number 5289.

Bowmore 1990 Sherry Cask 16 Year Old

A very popular 16 year old limited edition Bowmore. Distilled in 1990 and matured exclusively in sherry casks until bottling.

Bowmore 1991 Port Matured 16 Year Old

A 16 year old limited edition Bowmore, distilled in 1991 and matured exclusively in a Port cask.

Bottled at natural cask strength.

Balvenie 1975 Robert Watson Over Proof / Intertrade Import

An interesting old bottle of Balvenie, independently bottled by Robert Watson of Aberdeen.

Put into cask in January 1975 and bottled May 1985. 

Imported to Italy by Intertrade.

Bunnahabhain 13 Year Old Marsala Finish / Feis Ile Committee 2017

Unusually for these Bunnahabhain hand fills, this is a 70cl.

Aged 13 years and finished in Marsala wood before bottling on the 28th of May 2018.

Bottle number 74 of 100 bottles gifted specially to Feis Ile festival volunteers in 2017.
