This is part of the Connoisseurs Choice series, and is presented in the classic 1980s packaging.

Caroni 2000 Single Cask 18 Year Old Full Proof Heavy Rum #R4004 / Whisky Antique

A full proof heavy Trinidad rum, distilled at the lost Caroni distillery and fully matured on the Caribbean island.

Distilled in 2000 and aged 18 years before being bottled from single cask #R4004, which was specially selected by Massimo Righi and Diego Sandrin for Whisky Antique and bottled by Velier.

As of bottling in 2018 these particular releases of Caroni are the oldest yet!

Distilled in 1984 and bottled at cask strength 32 years later.

Caroni 2000 Single Cask 17 Year Old #R4008 Full Proof Heavy Rum / TWE

A full proof heavy Trinidad rum, distilled at the lost Caroni distillery and fully matured on the Caribbean island.

Distilled in 2000 and aged 17 years before being bottled from single cask #R4008 (imported from Trinidad by Velier), which was specially selected for The Whisky Exchange.

One of only 238 bottles produced at a whopping cask strength of 70.4%.

Unusually for rums of this age, this cask was matured exclusively in Trinidad, where the climate leads to a far higher angel's share and more rapid ageing.

The Angels' Share of this cask was > 75%

Distilled in 1960 and bottled in 1992 by Gordon and MacPhail as part of their Rare Old range.

A very rare and well-aged single malt, bottled at nearly 40 years old from this long-lost distillery.

Croizet 1914 Grand Reserve Cognac

Croizet was founded in 1805 by Leon Croizet. The house owns 58 hectares of vineyard in the top Grande Champagne cru, and became famous when a bottle of its Cuvee Leonie (from the 1858 vintage) sold for more than £100,000 at auction in 2011.

This is an impressive 1914 vintage.

Caroni 1974 Bristol Classic Rum

An independent bottling from the legendary lost Caroni distillery.

Distilled in 1974 and bottled in 2008 by Bristol Spirits Ltd. 

Less than 1,500 bottles were produced. 

Chichibu 2009 Ichiro's Malt Chibidaru / Quarter Cask

This is from the new Japanese distillery, Chichibu. Distilled in 2009 and bottled in 2013 from Chibidaru casks. 

Chibidaru are similar to quarter casks, the difference being that while Scottish quarter casks are made by removing staves from regular casks, Chibidaru have shortened staves and are repurposed. 

One of 3,900 bottles.

Caol Ila 25 Year Old Limited Batch / Flora and Fauna

An incredibly rare official limited batch release from the often-overlooked Caol Ila distllery, bottled at a very mature 25 years old.

This bottling is made even more special as it's front label displays the iconic 'Harbour Seal' image which was originally used on the classic Flora and Fauna release.

One of only 636 bottles.

Caperdonich 1968 Duncan Taylor 39 Year Old

Distilled in October 1968 and bottled by Duncan Taylor as part of their Rare Auld series, this is from closed Dufftown distillery, Caperdonich. 

One of 108 bottles produced in January 2008, from cask #2610.

Distilled in September 1980 and bottled in 2018 as a 38 year old by Douglas Laing.

Chichibu Ichiro's Malt 'The Floor Malted' 2015 75cl / US Import

Ichiro Akuta is the grandson of the founder of the famous Hanyu distillery. In 2007, he built a new whisky distillery 100km northwest of Tokyo. Located near the old distillery of Hanyu the local climate (humid summers and cold winters) provides excellent maturing conditions for whisky and even though it is a young distillery Chichibu continues to release exceptional whiskies.

This is a special release for the US market, bottled in 2015.

Chichibu 3 Year Old Ichiro's Malt The First 75cl / US Import

The first whisky (aged three year old) released from Ichiro Akuto's Chichibu distillery. Showcased at the 2011 Whisky Show, this is the US release at 59% abv.

Distilled at the closed Caperdonich distillery in 1972 and matured for 36 years in a first fill sherry butt #1975.

Cooley 1991 Celtic Cask Ocht 

This Irish single malt was distilled in 2001 at Cooley distillery, and bottled for by Celtic Cask.

This is the eighth in their series, and was drawn from cask #1917. The whisky was matured for 21 years in a refill sherry hogshead before being finished in a wine cask from Anima Negra, one of Spain's finest wineries.

Bottle 161 of 334 filled in 2014.

The Floor Malted Ichiro Malt is a limited release of 8,800 bottles distilled in 2009 from malted barley malted to Ichiro Akuto's specifications he learned himself in a trip to England, bottled 2012.

Caledonian 1974 Single Grain 40 Year Old / The Cally

This is a 40 year old single grain from Caledonian distillery, which was based in Edinburgh and closed in 1988.

This is a super rare official Diageo from their premium annual releases. This was released as part of a small batch in 2015.

Distilled at the closed Caperdonich distillery in 1972 and matured for 36 years in a first fill sherry butt #1975.

Compass Box Last Vatted Malt

On the final day before the 2009 Scotch Whisky Regulations were enacted (22/11/2009), Compass Box released both this and the \"Last Vatted Grain.\" From that day forward the word \"Vatted\" was no longer legitimate and has been replaced with \"Blended\". So now, Blended Malts and Blended Grains are the only acceptable nomenclature.

This is a combination of 36 year old Aberlour matured in a first-fill sherry butt, and a 26 year old malt from Port Askaig on Islay matured in American oak hogsheads. 

One of 1,323 bottles. 

Uitvlugt ULR 1997 Demerara Rum 17 Year Old

Distilled in 1997 and bottled in July 2014, this Guyana Rum was aged in 5 barrels to a yield of 1404 bottles.

77% of this experimental light rum was lost to angels share in the barrels, a rarity indeed.

Caperdonich 1972 Finest Whisky / 5th Anniversary - One of 36 Bottles

An independent bottling from closed Speyside distillery, Caperdonich. Distilled in 1972 and bottled from a sherry cask in 2012.

The bottle was released in 2013 to celebrate 5 years of Finest Whisky.

This is bottle 17 of just 36 filled at cask strength.

Chichibu Ichiro's Malt IPA Cask Finish / 2017

A larger release of IPA Cask finish Chichibu, following on from the highly popular single cask #3867 version 

Matured in a bourbon barrel before finished in an IPA cask.

One of 6700 bottles.

Coleburn 1970 Signatory Vintage 36 Year Old Cask Strength

A great example of this closed distillery, Coleburn, which we rarely see many bottles from.

Bottled within Signatory Vintage's Cask Strength range, this 36 year old Coleburn was distilled on the 13th January 1970 and bottled on the 14th March 2006 Wine Treated Puncheon 00/1142
