Haig's Dimple 1950s

A lovely old bottling of Haig's Dimple from the 1950s.

Dimple was produced by Haig and interestingly in 1958 the Dimple bottle was the first container to be trademarked by the US Patent office, this was because of its unique design.

The Haig family had a long history of distilling going back as far as the 15th Century. Since 1824 when Cameronbridge distillery was opened by John Haig, Haig has been a big brand in the whisky world. As part of a distilling dynasty John Haig became important in the regulation of Whisky production and was a spokesman for the industry. Although the brand began to shrink in the 1970s, in the last year it has seen a healthy revival with the help of Mr Posh Spice David Beckham.

Dom Venitia CDR \"Beaumes de Venise\" 2011 3Litres

A high quality Côtes de Rhône from the vineyards of the famed Cru Beaumes-de-Venise.  A careful blend of Grenache and Syrah resulting in a wine with great richness of character yet subtlety of tannins.

Not only do large format bottles look awesome, but the wines contained within also bottle-mature at a much slower rate than in standard bottles - this further results in wines with great balance and longevity.

Please note this lot has an additional shipping charge for four bottles.

Drappier \"Grande Sendrée\" Champagne 2000

Drappier have been a family-owned Champagne winery by the village of Urville - in the sub-region of Aube - since 1808.  Aube, in the far South-East of the Champagne region is well suited to growing Pinot Noir, so naturally dominates Drappier's Champagnes.  Interestingly, Drappier also grow, and blend-in, small quantities of 3 other permitted grapes - Arbanne, Petit Meslier and Pinot Blanc Vrai - which rarely make the blend in other Champagnes.

Drappier's \"Grande Sendrée\" is a Vintage Champagne - that is, made from the grapes exclusively grown and harvested in 2000 - and is a blend of approximately 55% Pinot Noir to 45% Chardonnay, with the final wine left to age for a minimum of six years after bottling before being released.
