Balvenie Tun 1509 Batch #1 / Signed

The latest 'tun' release from Balvenie following the footsteps of Balvenie Tun 1401 and 1858.

This larger Tun can hold upto four times as much liquid as Tun 1401 and hence we expect a larger quantity of this release.  This release is a combination of 42 casks, 35 traditional American oak barrels and 7 European oak sherry butts, these were married in tun 1509 for several months before bottling.

The latest 'tun' release from Balvenie following the footsteps of Balvenie Tun 1401 and 1858.

This larger Tun can hold up to four times as much liquid as Tun 1401 and hence we expect a larger quantity of this release.  This release is a combination of 32 casks, 23 traditional American oak barrels and 9 European oak sherry butts, these were married in tun 1509 for several months before bottling.

The Silent Stills collection is an exceptional range of bottlings from Signatory Vintage from closed distilleries and stills.

Distilled on 14th October 1976 and bottled on 1st February 2000 at 23 years of age.

Bunnahabhain 1979 Duir 30 Year Old

Distilled in 22nd of September 1979 and matured in a single sherry cask for 30 years then bottled on the 7th of October 2009.

Single cask 1987 vintage from Balblair distillery.

Distilled in 1986 and bottled in 2011 at a full strength of 51.4%

Cardhu 1982 22 Year Old Cask Strength

An often overlooked distillery that's current output is primarily exported to mainland Europe. This is a more full flavoured example as it is cask strength and 22 years old.

A single cask from Caol Ila distillery on Islay, distilled in 1979 and bottled 34 years later by Mackillop's Choice exclusively for World of Whiskies' duty free shops.

Caol Ila 1974 Signatory Vintage 21 Year Old

A Caol Ila distilled on the 27th of December 1974 and bottled 21 years later on the 4th November 1996 after maturing in cask 12605.

Distilled in 1969 and bottled in 2008, this is from the closed Speyside distillery Caperdonich.

Matured in oak casks before being finished in rum casks shipped from Jamaica.

Distilled in 1972 and bottled by Gordon and MacPhail in 2002.

Coleburn is yet another of the many distilleries that didn’t make it through the 1980s, the production equipment is now gone so this will never produce again.

A stunning official 25 year old Caol Ila created using a mixture of American and European Oak.

Distilled in 1979, this is bottle number 1725.

Cardhu 1973 Rare Malt 27 Year Old 

The Rare Malt Selection is a historic selection of single malt whiskies from operational and lost distilleries that were released by Diageo between 1995 and 2005.

Released at an impressive natural cask strength of 60.02%, distilled in 1973 and bottled in October 2000 as a 27 year old.

There were only two releases of Cardhu under the Rare Malt Selection, this is bottle number 0613.

Banff 1980 Milroy's 18 Year Old

Single cask Banff distilled in 1980 and bottted in 1998 after maturing for 18 years by Milroy's of Soho.

Banff distillery ceased production in 1983 and slowly fell in to disrepair. By 1991 all of the distilleries buildings had been demolished/destroyed.

The Rare Malt Selection is a historic selection of single malt whiskies from operational and lost distilleries that were released by Diageo between 1995 and 2005.

Distilled in 1975 and bottled as a 21 year old, there were eight releases of Caol Ila under the Rare Malt Selection.

Coleburn 1979 Rare Malt 21 Year Old

The Rare Malt Selection is a historic selection of single malt whiskies from operational and lost distilleries that were released by Diageo between 1995 and 2005.

This Coleburn was distilled in 1979 and bottled as a 21 year old at 59.40%.

The single cask releases from Benriach are hotly anticipated each year.

Distilled in 1978 and bottled 26 years later in December 2004, from single cask #1589.

Balvenie 17 Year Old Islay Cask

Released in 2003, this was the very first of the Balvenie 17 year old expressions.

''In the making of The Balvenie Islay Cask, David Stewart selected Balvenie single malt which had matured in traditional oak casks for at least 17 years and transferred it into 94 casks which had previously held Islay single malt. After six months he felt the casks had imparted the desired delicate amount of peaty notes, typical of Islay, whilst retaining the distinctively honeyed character of The Balvenie.''

Benriach 1976 First Cask 27 Year Old

Distilled in December 1976 and bottled in 27 years later after being matured in single cask number #9534.

The third Black Art release, distilled in 1989 and bottled as a 22 year old.

Matured in wide variety of American and European oak wines casks, now an annual release within Bruichladdich's core range.

This is a heavily peated expression from Benriach. 

Distilled in 1984 and then bottled in August 2007 after finishing in a port hogshead.

This is from the relatively new and incredibly popular Japanese distillery Chichibu.

Distilled in 2011 and bottled in 2015, this has been produced from heavily peated malt and bottled at cask strength.
