Karuizawa 1984 30 Year Old Cask Single Cask #7857 / Samurai

Karuizawa is unique, there are so few releases in the last couple of years of this legendary malt which just goes to show how scarce and exclusive these single cask offerings are.

This is one of three Karuizawa single casks all branded under the Samaurai range available in this auction.

Distilled in 1984 and matured for 30 years until bottling in 2014, limited to only 508 bottles.

Karuizawa 1984 29 Year Old Single Cask #3662

From this incredibly popular lost Japanese distillery, which has produced so many internationally acclaimed malts.

Distilled in 1984 and bottled from a single cask #3662 by The Whisky Exchange.

Killyloch 1967 36 Year Old

A very rare bottling of whisky from Killyloch.  The distillery existed within the long lost Moffat distilling complex, which combined of two malt distilleries Killyloch and Glenflagler and that of the Moffat Grain distillery.  The distillery was built in 1965 and closed in July 1985.  Killyloch was a slightly higher peating level, according to the Malt Maniacs at a level of around 3ppm with a higher peating level used for another malt produced in these rare stills cale Islebrae.  Production of Killyloch ceased much earlier than that of Glen Flagler in 1970 when the pot stills for this malt were removed.

This 36 year old official release from Inverhouses is a combination of the six of the last remaining casks that belonged to Inverhouse, the proprietors of the distillery, Glen Flagler. 

A release of only 371 bottles this is bottle number 68.

Includes a lovely wooden box and certificate of authenticity.

Another Noh single cask from Karuizawa, distilled in 1983 and bottled 28 years later from single sherry butt #7576

571 bottles were released.

Karuizawa 1982 29 Year Old Noh Single Cask #8529

Another new single cask Karuizawa for us, distilled in 1982 and bottled in 2012 with a fantastic label - shame we missed Halloween with this one!

Single bourbon cask #8529 yielded only 411 bottles.

Karuizawa 1980 34 Year Old Single Cask #6476

As with many of the Karuizawa bottlings that we list in our auctions, the labels are fantastic! 

Distilled in March 1980 and bottled in July 2014 aged 34 years.

Single cask #6476 is an ex-bourbon cask.

Karuizawa 1981 30 Year Old Single Cask #6207

Karuizawa produced outstanding whiskies, many of which have received international acclaim.

Another cracking single cask from Karuizawa, distilled in 1981 and bottled 30 years later on the 5th September 2011. 

543 bottles were released.

Karuizawa Noh 27 Year Old Multi Vintages Batch #1

La Maison Du Whisky released a number of multi-vintage Karuizawa's, bottled under the Noh release brand.

This is the original multi-vintage Karuizawa from 1981, 1983 and 1984 bottled October 2011.

The whisky used was from Sherry Butts and Bourbon casks from 1981, 1981, 1983 and 1984; cask numbers #6405, #4973, #8184 and #6437.

Karuizawa Cask Strength Selection 4 x 70cl

This cask strength series of Karuizawa was exclusively released to the Taiwanese market, this includes all four releases.

The cask strength series is a combination of sherry casks from 1999 and 2000 all bottled at 61.7%

Karuizawa 1994 Noh Single Cask 15 Year Old

A single cask Karuizawa bottled within the infamous 'Noh' series, with the usual friendly face on the front!

Distilled in 1994 and bottled in 2010 from a single sherry butt with cask number #270, which yielded 480 bottles.

Please note that the wax has tiny bubbles in it. 

Glen Flagler 1973 30 Year Old

A very rare bottling of this long lost distillery that was once part of the Moffat distilling complex, Glenflagler was produced between 1965 and 1985.

This 30 year old official release from Inverhouses is a combination of the five  last remaining casks of Glen Flagler that belonged to Inverhouse.

A release of only 931 bottles this is bottle number 300.

Includes a lovely wooden box and certificate of authenticity.

Kentucky straight bourbon whisky made in a pot still from sour mash.

Produced at the Michter distillery that closed in 1988.

Karuizawa 1992 Single Cask #3434 Whisky Magazine

A single cask bottling of Karuizawa selected by the editor of Whisky Magazine.

Distilled in 1992 and matured in an American white oak sherry butt, #3434, bottled in 2007 at 15 years old.

Bottle number 158 of 308. 

Glenlochy 1969 Rare Malt 26 Year Old 75cl 

A very rare bottling of Glenlochy from within the Rare Malts Selection and one of the rare bottles from the series.

The Rare Malt Selection is a historic selection of single malt whiskies from operational and lost distilleries that were released by Diageo between 1995 and 2005.

Distilled in 1969 and bottled as a 26 year old,this is bottle number 0240.

B297 version , the last of the Rare Malt Selection bottlings of this closed distillery.

Karuizawa 2000 Tokyo Bar Show 2013 #7603

Distilled in the year 2000, matured in a single sherry butt #7603 before bottling in 2013 for the Tokyo International Bar Show.

Ardbeg Lord of the Isles 25 Year Old

The Ardbeg Lord of the Isles, 25 year old is a highly sought after and inconic Ardbeg released between 2002 and 2007.

Named after the 'Lord of the Isles' who ruled the Western Isles and parts of Argyll between the 12th and 15th Centuries..

Prior to the distilery closing and the stock being sold to Number One Drinks, the distillery was owned by Mercian wine company which is when this 15 year old was released. 

Glenglassaugh 1972 Single Cask 40 Year Old

A recent old release from the long closed but now reopened distillery. 

Distilled in December 1973 then matured in a single manzanilla Sherry puncheon numbered 6801 for 40 years. 

This is bottle number 246 of 497. 

Glenury 1970 40 Year Old

There are very few official bottling of this rare highland malt, which closed its doors for the last time in 1985.

This 1970 vintage Glenury was bottled in 2011 within Diageo's annual super premium series.  

One of only 1500 bottles, this is bottle number 0074.

Ardbeg 1998 Single Cask #1189

A single cask Ardbeg, distilled in May 1998 and bottled on 10th December 2008, from single cask #1189 a new toasted oak hogshead.

Bottle number 156 of 252.

Glengoyne 1986 Ewan's Choice 19 Year Old

Distilled on the 13th of April 1986 then bottled May 2005. Cask number 441 was a PX sherry puncheon chosen by Glengoyne Stillman Ewan Hendry. 

This is bottle number 516 of 600.

Ardbeg 1998 Feis Ile 2009 Single Cask #1190

A single cask Ardbeg, distilled in May 1998 and bottled on 10th December 2008, from single cask #1190 a new toasted oak hogshead.

Bottle number 260 of 282.

Ardbeg 1992 Single Cask #772

A single cask Ardbeg, distilled on 30th April 1992 and bottled on 10th December 2008, from single cask #772 a first fill bourbon barrel.

Bottle number 147 of 184.

Glenury 1968 36 Year Old

There are very few official bottling of this rare highland malt, which closed its doors for the last time in 1985.

This 1968 vintage Glenury was bottled in 2005 within Diageo's annual super premium series.  

One of only 2,100 bottles, this is bottle number 696.

Glenrothes 1972

Distilled in November 1972 and bottled in March 1996.

A small batch official Glenrothes release.

Glenfiddich 1995 First Fill Sherry Cask / Speyside Festival 2015

A single cask first fill sherry Glenfiddich distilled in 1995 and bottled for the 2015 Speyside festival. 

Glenfiddich 30 Year Old 

Glenfiddich 30 year old presented in a stunning box, this mult award winning whisky was matured in Spanish Oloroso and American Bourbon casks.

Cask selection 00037 bottle number 0726.

Glen Grant 1966 Gordon and Macphail / Queen's Award for Enterprise

A rare bottle of Glen Grant, distilled in 1966 and bottled in October 2013  to commemorate Gordon and Macphail's reception of the Queen's award for Enterprise and International Trade.

This was never available for retail and was given to employees of Gordon and Macphail at the time.

Glenfiddich 1991 Hand Filled First Fill Bourbon 24 Year Old

This Glenfiddich was distilled in 1991 and bottled in 2015 after maturation in a single first fill bourbon cask. 

This was hand botttled at the distillery and has been unsigned.
