Macallan Remix Remixed

To commemorate the 75th birthday of photographer Daido Moriyama, Macallan launched The Macallan Masters of Photography: Capsule Edition - Daido Moriyama ‘Remix, Remixed’.

Released exclusively to the Asian travel retail market, it features Daido Moriyama work from his book of the same name ‘Remix’. Each book includes a series of inspired French fold pages and has been hand-signed by the photographer.

The whisky was selected by Macallan’s Bob Dalgarno and matured in cask number 15245, which was a first fill sherry seasoned oak cask and bottled at cask strength.

Macallan Royal Marriage 1981

A wonderful addition to any Macallan collection, the Royal Marriage bottling was released in 1981 to celebrate the marriage of The Prince of Wales to  Lady Diana Spencer.

A marriage of casks from 1948 and 1961, the years of the couples' births.

Excellent condition fill level is lower neck.

Macallan 30 Year Old Sherry Oak

A very rare and hugely popular edition of Macallan 30 year old, released in the eye catching bright blue box with blue and gold labelling.

Both box and bottle are in good condition.

Bowmore 1968 Bourbon Cask 37 Year Old

Distilled in 1968 and matured in Bourbon wood, this highly limited bottling from the Golden age of Bowmore.

Bottle number 046 of 708.

Bruichladdich 40 Year Old

This mythical 40 year old Bruichladdich is the oldest official release from the distillery.

Distilled on 24th October 1964 and matured in a single bourbon cask until bottling in november 2004.  There were only 550 bottles released and this bottle comes with the original packaging in the typical Bruichladdich tin and the wooden box alongisde a signed certificate from Jim McEwan.

Macallan Masters of Photography Annie Leibovitz 'The Bar'

An extremely limited bottling from Macallan, only 245 bottles of this were produced for the Annie Leibovitz 'Master of Photography edition.  

Bottle No.3 carries an image of actor Kevin McKidd pictured enjoying a dram in an American Bar.

Please Note minor damage to the border of the exterior bar shot, as shown in the lot images.

Macallan Masters of Photography Annie Leibovitz 'The Skyline'

An extremely limited bottling from Macallan, only 245 bottles of this were produced for the Annie Leibovitz 'Master of Photography edition.  

The bottle carries an image of actor Kevin McKidd pictured on 'Tudor City' arguably the first residential skyscrapper on the east side of Manhattan.

Macallan 1966 Anniversary Malt 25 Year Old

A stunning example of Macallan 25 year old,  distilled in 1966 and bottled 25 years.

Matured exclusively in sherry wood.

Macallan Oscutro  / Lalique Kazak Horse 

A stunning bottle of Macallan Oscuro produced alongside a Lalique rearing Kazak Horse.

Sold exclusively at travel retail (initially Hong Kong International Airport) and imited to a mere 300 sets worldwide, this is incredibly rare.

The Macallan Oscuro was created using whisky distilled between 1987 and 1997 and in true Macallan fashion is full of plenty of sherried characteristics.

Macallan 1950 Speymalt Gordon and Macphail 

Another spectacular release from Gordon and Macphail, Macallan distilled in 1950 and bottled in 1994.

These old vintage Speymalts really offer a vintage Macallan at reasonable prices.

Macallan 30 Year Old Fine Oak

Macallan 30 year old Fine Oak edition matured in a mixture of European and American oak casks.  

Presented in this older packaging style.

Brora 35 Year Old 2014 Release

The latest official Brora release from Diageo.  Matured for 35 years in a combination of European and America oak casks.

Limited to only 2,964 bottles this is bottle number #1166.

Macallan 1979 Gran Reserva 18 Year Old

The Gran Reserva Macallan’s were release between 1997 and 2002. Distilled in 1979 and bottled in 1997, this 18 year old Macallan is widely regarded as one of the most memorable and legendary ever bottled.

Macallan Diamond Jubilee

Released in 2012 this specially designed bottle bears a unique image of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II created by the sculptor Arnold Martin.

The contents of this bottle were specially chosen for the months it was drawn from the casks, 6th February, the Queen's accession and the first week in June, traditionally when the Jubilees are celebrated.  Bottled at 52% in line with the year of the Queen's accession, only 2,012 bottles were released.

Macallan Reflexion

Matured in smaller Hogshead casks to ensure that it gets maximum flavour from both Spanish and American First fill seasoned Sherry casks.

Macallan 1971 Anniversary Malt 25 Year Old

A stunning example of Macallan 25 year old,  distilled in 1971 and bottled 25 years later in 1997.

Matured exclusively in sherry wood.

Condition is excellent although please note rear of cap and the bottom wooden piece on the front of the box is loose.

Macallan 25 Year Old Anniversary Malt

A stunning example of Macallan 25 year old, bottled as an 'Anniversary Malt' with the classic wooden box and ore unusual leather straps.

Bunnahabhain 1963 40 Year Old Feis Ile 2003

Bottled on the 20th May 2005 as Bunnabahhain's 2003 Feis Isle bottling. This was a combination of the last seven hogsheads of 1963 Bunnahabhain that were in existence, distilled on 11th May 1963. The cask yielded 743 bottles at a cask strength of 42.9%.

Macallan Coronation

The latest in the Macallan royal bottlings, this release from June 2013 consists of two 35cl bottles with a box designed by David Holmes. One bottle depicts the queen from 1953, matured solely in American oak sherry seasoned casks, while the other matured in Spanish sherry seasoned casks.   Only 1,953 boxes were produced to convey the date of the coronation in 1953.

Only available on Macallan’s website or at the distillery this quickly became one of the fastest selling releases of 2013.

Balvenie 1978 Vintage Cask

Direct from Balvenies Website: \"The Balvenie Vintage Cask 1978 was selected in 2009 by David Stewart and three senior members of the British Bee Keepers Association. Two exceptional casks were identified as best exemplifying The Balvenie's signature honeyed complexity.\"

This is cask 2705, which was bottled on 11th of March 2009 at cask strength.

Bottled under Gordon and Macphail's Speymalt banner, this Macallan was distilled in 1967 and bottled 41 years later in 2008.

Brora 1981 The Bottlers 19 Year Old

A very rare bottling of Brora by the renkowned Edinburgh wine merchant, Raeburn Fine Wines.  

Bottled under 'The Bottlers' series this is one of two Brora's released by them.  

Distilled in 1981 from refill sherry butt cask number #1077.

Balvenie Craftman's Reserve - The Cooper

The first in a range of whiskies that may continue in the future that have been created to commemorate the craftmen who work at the distillery.  This very limited Balvenie was released from a marriage of two casks of 15 year old whisky with cask numbers # 10142 and 17949. 

This was originally only available through Balvenie's online community Warehouse 24.

 Macallan 1968 Duncan Taylor 38 Year Old

A cask strength single cask Macallan from Duncan Taylor's Rare Auld range.

Distilled in June 1968, matured in cask Number 5586 then bottled in July 2006.

Bottle number 88 of 103.

Balvenie Tun 1401 Batch #6 75cl (US Import) 

From the distillery website the Balvenie Tun 1401, Batch 6 is a skillful marriage of some of the rarest treasures from the distillery’s Warehouse 24 – an unrepeatable selection of spirits sourced from seven traditional whisky casks and two sherry butts, whose ages span a number of decades, and which have all been hand-selected by Malt Master David Stewart. The whisky was rested for several months in Tun 1401 – The Balvenie’s traditional oak marrying vessel – to create a single malt that enhances its already precious parts.

The expression has been exclusively created for the U.S. market, and follows the hugely successful Batch 3, which was released in 2011. In 2013, Batch 9 was also introduced especially for the U.S. market.

Macallan 1971 Speymalt Gordon and Macphail

Another fantastic example of old Macallan bottled by Gordon and Macphail.

Distilled in 1971 and bottled in 2010 at 39 years old.

Bowmore 1989 24 Year Old Feis Ile 2014 

A very popular release at this years Feis Ile, one of several Bowmore releases at this years Feis Ile.

This particular bottling was a combination of two casks  both from 1989, a first fill French oak wine barrique and a first fill American bourbon barrel.  This 24 year old whisky was limited to a mere 300 bottles which sold out by 2pm on Bowmore's open day.
