Port Ellen 1979 22 Year Old 1st Release

The first of the incredibly popular Port Ellen annual releases.  Distilled in 1979 and bottled 22 years later in 2001, bottled at cask strength and limited to 6,000 bottles, this is bottle 0443.

Port Ellen is the lost jewel of the Islay crown. Closure in 1983 has enabled this distillery to receive a near mythical amount of love and respect. As stocks get thinner on the ground, these bottles become rarer and rarer

Macallan Royal Wedding

The first of the Royal releases from Macallan is a limited edition bottling of only 1,000 bottles celebrating the Royal Marriage of Prince William to Catherine Middleton on 29th April 2011.

Bottled from two casks, both filled on 29th April – one from 1996 and one from 1999.

The creation of this special bottle follows the release of a commemorative edition to mark the marriage of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer in 1981. This comprised two casks, one from each of their birth years. At the time, the bottle sold out and today is highly sought-after by collectors of The Macallan around the world.

In keeping with this original bottling, The Macallan commissioned the creative force behind the 1981 bottle, David Holmes, who was also one of the architects of our advertising campaign in the 1980s and the early 1990s, to create the label and packaging design.

Macallan Diamond Jubilee

Released in 2012 this specially designed bottle bears a unique image of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II created by the sculptor Arnold Martin.

The contents of this bottle were specially chosen for the months it was drawn from the casks, 6th February, the Queen's accession and the first week in June, traditionally when the Jubilees are celebrated.  Bottled at 52% in line with the year of the Queen's accession, only 2,012 bottles were released.

Replacement box is also available in this lot.

The fourth in the wildly popular Port Ellen annual releases.  Distilled in 1978 and bottled 25 years later in 2004, bottled at cask strength and limited to 5,100 bottles, this is bottle 0464.

Port Ellen is the lost jewel of the Islay crown. Closure in 1983 has enabled this distillery to receive a near mythical amount of love and respect. As stocks get thinner on the ground, these bottles become rarer and rarer.

Please note  that there are some very feint marks on the box.

Macallan Coronation

The latest in the Macallan royal bottlings, this release from June 2013 consists of two 35cl bottles with a box designed by David Holmes. One bottle depicts the queen from 1953, matured solely in American oak sherry seasoned casks, while the other matured in Spanish sherry seasoned casks.   Only 1,953 boxes were produced to convey the date of the coronation in 1953.

Only available on Macallan’s website or at the distillery this quickly became one of the fastest selling releases of 2013.

Macallan 1959 (26 2/3rds fl oz)

Distilled in 1959 this very old bottling of Macallan was bottled by Gordon and Macphail at 80 proof.

Laphroaig 10 Year Old 1970s (26 2/3rd fl.oz 70 proof])

A very old Laphroaig 10 year old bottled during the late 1970s at 26 2/3rd fluid ounces and 70 proof.

This bottle is in excellent condition with only minor staining around the very edge of the front label, please see photo for closeup.

Macallan 1995 Easter Elchies 2009

The 2009 Easter Elchies bottling was from a single sherry hogshead cask #14016, distilled in 1995 and bottled in 2009.

Macallan 1963 75.7cl (26 2/3rd fl oz)

Good condition bottle of Macallan distilled in 1963 and bottled prior to January 1st 1981, at 26 2/3rd fluid ounces (75.7cl).

The bottle is in good condition, the neck label is coming slightly loose and there is a slight crease to the label at the bottom corner.  The box is also in good condition with the exception of the creases and tears to the very top (as shown in the photo).

Port Ellen 1979 Douglas Laing 25 Year Old

A lovely Old Malt Cask release from Douglas Laing, this Port Ellen was distilled in December 1979 before being bottled 25 years later in July 2005.

Finished for 6 months in sherry wood, this single cask only produced 425 bottles.

Port Ellen 1980 21 Year old Silver Seal

A slightly younger Port Ellen than you normally see from the long closed Islay legend. This was bottled for the Italian market by the Glasgow based company. Bottle 118 of 240

Port Charlotte PC5

Port Charlotte is a heavily peated spirit produced by Bruichladdich in rememberance and hope for a long list distillery at Port Charlotte on Islay, which closed in 1929. 

Matured in both bourbon and sherry cask this 5 year old spirit was limited to 6,038 bottles.

Port Ellen 1982 Douglas Laing 25 Year Old

A sherry cask matured Port Ellen as part of Douglas Laing's Provenance range.

Bottled in the summer of 2008 and matured for 25 years since the winter of 1982, independant bottlings are quickly becoming the only affordable way to reach Port Ellen's.

Millburn 1975 25 Year Old Rare Malt

The Rare Malt Selection is a historic selection of single malt whiskies from operational and lost distilleries that were released by Diageo between 1995 and 2005.

Millburn  distilled in 1975 and bottled in the October 2001,at 61.9%

Bottle number 6156.

Longmorn - Glenlivet 1967 Scott's Selection (US Import)

Distilled in 1967 bottled in 2004 by Scott's Selection.

Lagavulin 16 Year Old White Horse Bottling

A bottling of Ron Swanson and Jonny Depp's favourite, Lagavulin 16 year old, complete with the White Horse on the label making this early 1990's bottle an especially rare version.

Midleton Very Rare 2003 Edition

This famous blend of whiskies was produced by Jameson's Master Distiller, Barry Crockett. Midleton Very Rare was released in very limited quantities on an annual basis since 1984, until 2012 when it was replaced by the equally desirable and acclaimed Midleton Barry Crockett Legacy.

The whiskey is aged somewhere between 12 and 25 years and matured solely in Bourbon casks.  Each bottle carries a signature from Barry Crocket and has an individual bottle number, this particular bottle is # 011218 and carries a certificate of authenticity.

Macallan 1876 Replica

The second replica release from Macallan, this is a combination of two casks of pre-twentieth century Macallan were discovered, resulting in a recreation by Macallan's Master Blender to create this old style of Macallan.

The packaging is an immitation of the victorian style from this era.

Laphroaig 15 Year Old Pre-Royal Warrant

A rare example of Laphroaig 15 year old prior to the Royal Warrant being awarded in 1994.

Lochside 1991 Gordon and Macphail

Lochside distilled in 1991 and bottled by Gordon and Macphail in 2007, this 16 year old whisky was mostly matured in ex-bourbon barrels.

Loch Lomond 1974 23 year old

Distilled in 1973 and bottled in 1997, 23 year old

Paul John Debut Cask P1-161

The first release from the new Indian producer Paul John, based in Goa.

Matured in a single bourbon cask P1-161.

An official bottling of Littlemill 8 Year Old in the dumpy green bottle and yellow box and label.

Port Charlotte PC10

Port Charlotte is a heavily peated spirit produced by Bruichladdich in rememberance and hope for a long list distillery at Port Charlotte on Islay, which closed in 1929. 

The coming of age version of Port Charlotte, PC10.  The Trona Linntean - in English means 'Through the Generation' to celebrate the young craftsmen coming through the distillery.

Bottle number 554 of 6,000.

Mortlach 16 Year Old Flora and Fauna

The world famous Mortlach 16 year old, full bodied, heavily sherried a true cult classic.  Bottled as part of the Flora and Fauna series of whiskies.

Longrow 1990 13 Year old SMWS 114.3 Opening of Queens Street

Distilled March 1990 and bottled in February 2004 at 54.5%, SMWS 114.3 is a 13 year old Longrow bottled to mark the opening of SMWS newest venue in a restored Georgian townhouse in Edinburgh's Queen Street, which opened in 2004. 

Loch Dhu 10 Year Old

Still in high demand the black whisky, distilled at Mannochmore distillery has become increasingly harder to find.

The tall cream box and bottle from this popular speyside whisky.

Macallan 1989 Malts of Distinction

Distilled in 1989 and bottled by Morrison Fairlie Distillers, in 2001 under the Malts of Distinction banner. Bottled at 80 proof, 45.7 this is bottle number 12.

Laphroaig 18 Year Old Diamond Jubilee

This commemorative edition of Laphroaig 18 year old, was released in Summer 2012 in a specially designed tube celebrating the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

There were only 3000 of these limited edition tubes made. Jim Beam donated £3000 from the sales of these bottles to the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust which helps young craftsmen.
