Daftmill 2010 Winter Batch Release 2024

Daftmill is a farm distillery, owned and run by the Cuthbert family, who grow all of the barley used in their whisky on-site. The distillery is only operational during the farm's quiet periods in mid-summer and mid-winter, sometimes producing as few as 100 casks per year. The distillery was granted its license in 2005, but not in a hurry to rush out their product, it was 2018 before their inaugural release. This patience and dedication to their craft has won the distillery an army of passionate fans, among collectors and connoisseurs alike.

Released in 2024, this Daftmill was matured in 27 first-fill bourbon barrels filled in December of 2011.

Dewar's Signature

This is the premium offering from John Dewar's and Sons, this deluxe blend has proven to be incredibly popular competing against the likes of Johnnie Walker Blue Label.

John Dewar & Sons were granted their first Royal Warrant by Queen Victoria in 1893, and it has been renewed by every monarch since then. The company opened the Aberfeldy distillery in 1898, and it remains the core constituent of its blends. The famous white label Scotch was debuted the following year. The company merged with James Buchanan & Co to form Dewar-Buchanan in 1915, before becoming part of DCL ten years later. It remained part of that empire until the formation of its modern iteration, Diageo, in 1997. The merger of United Distillers and Grand Metropolitan had brought too much of the industry under a sole parent organisation, and to satisfy anti-monopoly rulings, the Dewar's brands and distilleries were sold to Bacardi in 1998, who have breathed a new lease of life into many of them since.

Deanston 2002 Whisky Fellas 19 Year Old / Episode 3

Deanston distillery opened in 1965, and its first single malt was called Old Bannockburn, first bottled in 1971. Invergordon Distillers procured the distillery two years later, and introduced the first Deanston-named single malt in 1974. Sadly, a lack of interest in it saw the distillery mothballed in 1982, and it was not until 1990 when it was bought by Burn Stewart that it was revived and began to flourish. Now part of the Distell group, Deanston has become a global single malt brand.

This Deanston was distilled in 2002 and matured in a single Fino sherry cask for 19 years. It was bottled by The Whisky Fellas in 2022, as the third episode of their comic-style story, titled The Climb.

This mature blended whisky from Dewar's has been \"double double aged for ultimate smoothness.\" The small batch release sees a four stage ageing process. First, single malts are individually matured, then vatted together and re-racked. The same is done for the single grains, before both the blended malt and blended grain casks are themselves vatted together. This cask is then re-racked into sherry casks to finish.

This 20 year old expression was made exclusive to the travel retail market.

Dornoch 5 Year Old Sutherland / WhiskyFun 20th Anniversary

The Thompson Brothers began their whisky bottling enterprise in 2013, establishing the Black Isle Whisky Company in their native Dornoch. The brothers, Simon and Philip, renamed the operation as the Dornoch Distilling Company in 2015, opening the Dornoch distillery the following year. Located in a tiny 19th century fire station in the grounds of Dornoch Castle, they began distilling in July 2017. They only use organic strains of heritage barley such as Plumage Archer and Maris Otter and at 216 hours, the distillery's fermentation process may be the longest in Scotland. Such long fermentation will result in a spirit with a fruity and complex flavour profile. The company has the capability to produce 12,000 litres of spirit annually and their very first single malt was released in November 2020.

This whisky was bottled in 2022.

Dalmore 12 Year Old 1 Litre

Dalmore is undoubtedly the prize single malt in the Whyte & Mackay portfolio. This was not always the case though. The blenders purchased it from the Mackenzie family in 1960, having been long-standing customers. Due to the long-running importance of it to their blends, their distillery bottlings of its single malt were limited to a 12 year old expression. Nowadays however, it is positioned as a luxury brand, rubbing shoulder with the likes of Macallan, and is globally recognised.

The long-serving Dalmore 12 year old was the sole constituent of the distillery's core range until 2002 when the Cigar Malt and 21 year old were added.

Dufftown 8 Year Old 1980s

Dufftown was built in 1896, becoming part of the Arthur Bell & Sons portfolio in 1933. As with Blair Athol, Dufftown was regularly bottled as a single malt, despite its importance to the Bell's blends. When the company was bought by Guinness in 1985, these bottlings stopped, but a Dufftown distillery bottling returned in 1991 as part of United Distillers’ Flora & Fauna series, later becoming part of The Singleton stable. Prior to the construction of Roseisle, Dufftown was Diageo's largest distillery.

This is an 8 year old from the end of the Arthur Bell & Sons era.

Dalwhinnie was one of the six original Classic Malts when they were selected by DCL (now Diageo) back in 1988, and it was tipped to become the favourite among consumers on account of its flawless floral flavours and elegant character. Although eventually pipped at the post by the smoky dark horse that was the Lagavulin 16 year old, it remains a well-loved single malt. The distillery is both the highest and coldest in Scotland, contributing to its unique flavour through the rapid condensing that occurs in its worm tubs.

Launched in 1997, the Distillers Edition range are cask finished variations on the Classic Malts. This is the second release of this double matured series from Dalwhinnie, and was finished in Oloroso cask wood.

Dailuaine 16 Year Old Flora and Fauna

Following on from the successful introduction of the Classic Malts range in 1988 (at the time only six expressions), United Distillers sought to build on this by releasing a further 22 single malts in 1991. These became affectionately known as the Flora & Fauna series, a term coined by whisky writer, Michael Jackson, in reference to their labels. The range showcased the lesser-seen distilleries from the company’s extensive portfolio at the time, with the intent of using collective branding to help them raise each other’s profiles. Despite four further additions in 2001, only a handful of these are still permanent distillery bottlings, making it a highly collectible series.

Dailuaine was at a time, in the 19th century, Speyside's largest distillery, and it was home to Scotland's first pagoda roofed kiln. That distillery perished in a fire however, in 1917. The newly rebuilt distillery was acquired by DCL (now Diageo) who used its \"meaty\" spirit as a filler for one of their many blends. As with many Diageo of the single malt operations in the Diageo portfolio, the Flora & Fauna release was Dailuaine's first ever distillery bottling. Despite being a fan favourite, this is still the only permanent official bottling available from the distillery.

Dalmunach 2015 Carn Mor 8 Year Old

One of Scotland's most modern distilleries, Dalmunach was constructed by Chivas Brothers in 2014. It stands on the site of the former Imperial distillery in Speyside (dismatled the year prior), and is named after a water pool in the local area. Overseen by Douglas Cruickshank, who began his career at Imperial, the design of Dalmunach retains several features of its predecessor, including recycling the red brick from the original mill for its entranceway, and wood from the washbacks to clad the walls of the tun room. The first Dalmunach single malt was bottled by Chivas Brothers as part of its Reserve Collection in 2019.

This Dalmunach was distilled 2015 and matured in oloroso butts for 8 years. It was bottled by Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers in 2024, under their Càrn Mòr label.

This is a Strictly Limited bottling, a small batch and single cask sub-category of Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers’ Carn Mor label. Formerly Morrison & Mackay, they are a Perth-based company producing a number of whisky liqueurs as well as independent single malts and blends, including the popular recently revived Old Perth. In 2017 the firm completed the construction of the Aberargie distillery in the town of the same name.

Deanston 8 Year Old Dràm Mòr

Deanston distillery opened in 1965, and its first single malt was called Old Bannockburn, first bottled in 1971. Invergordon Distillers procured the distillery two years later, and introduced the first Deanston-named single malt in 1974. Sadly, a lack of interest in it saw the distillery mothballed in 1982, and it was not until 1990 when it was bought by Burn Stewart that it was revived and began to flourish. Now part of the Distell group, Deanston has become a global single malt brand.

This Deanston was matured for 8 years, including a finish in refill Palo Cortado cask.

One of only 249 bottles.

Bidding advice

You can place bids either under the lot image on the main auction page or on the right side of the individual lot page.

Placing a Maximum Bid
Use the "Set your bid limit" button on the left side of the bidding panel to enter the highest amount you're willing to bid on a lot. Our system will then automatically raise your bid in set increments if you’re outbid, up to your maximum. If someone bids above your set limit, we’ll notify you by email so you can choose whether to increase your bid.

Placing a Single Bid
Alternatively, place a single bid by selecting the button on the right side of the bidding panel. The button displays the amount needed for the next increment. For example, if the current highest bid is £50.00, the button will show "+ £55.00" (reflecting a £5.00 increment).

Our system increases bids based on preset increments, as shown in the table below, whether you set a maximum bid or make a single bid.
