Bowmore Legend Of Saint Ives / First Edition

An older style label from this classic Islay malt. This is the first release of the Bowmore legends which would influence much of the distillerie's later output. 

This tin is for the Legend of St.Ives. The story goes that back in 1813, a young French soldier named St.Ives was captured by the British during the Napoleonic wars. Because of his ability to speak English he dodged execution and ended up imprisoned in Edinburgh castle. He managed to make a hot air ballon and escape, he floated to Islay.  Crashing in Lochindaal, he was rescued by the battleship The true blooded yankee.

This limited edition release of Bowmore legend carries an artists illustration of the legend depicted on the rear of the bottle.

Chateau d'Yquem 1995 37.5cl

Bowmore 1989 16 Year Old Limited Edition

This popular limited edition Bowmore was made up of 134 casks, distilled in 1989 and bottled 16 years later at cask strength, the majority of the casks were ex-bourbon casks.

Coleburn 1979 Rare Malt 21 Year Old

The Rare Malt Selection is a historic selection of single malt whiskies from operational and lost distilleries that were released by Diageo between 1995 and 2005.

This Coleburn was distilled in 1979 and bottled as a 21 year old at 59.40%.

Please be aware there appears to have been some leakage and fill level.

The 1985 Vintage for Chateau d'Yquem is something quite special due to the harvest conditions - a long drought right up until November meant that the required Noble Rot failed to materialise until the very last minute, the grapes were then finally picked in December, thus almost developing as a Noble-Rot:Ice-Wine hybrid.  A rarity amongst rarities!

'Poached peaches in red wine' from the Scotch Malt Whisky Society is a single cask Bowmore 16 year old bottled to celebrate Whisky Live Taipei 2014.

Ex-Sherry butt with a yield of 579.

Bunnahabhain 14 Year Old Pedro Ximenez Feis Ile 2006

Bottled in 2006 for the Feis Ile, this Bunnahabhain was finished in PX Casks.

Cask #2 yielding 761 bottles.

The box has been hand signed by distillery manager J MacLellan and Worker J Morris.

Bottled in 2005 for the Feis Ile, this Bunnahabhain was finished in port pipes.

Cask #1 yielding 766 bottles.

A vintage cask strength Bowmore distilled in 1992 and bottled in 2008.

Initially matured in bourbon casks before being finished in Bordeaux wine casks.

Limited to 18,000 bottles.

A 26 year old Bowmore bottled by Cadenhead's.

Distilled in 1989 and bottled in 2015 from a single bourbon hogshead.

One of 210 bottles.

Bruichladdich 16 Year Old Cuvee A

Bruichladdich matured initially in bourbon casks and then in wine barrels from one of the greatest wineries in the world: Chateau Lafite Rothschild.

This is part of Bruichladdich's series of first growth Bordeaux finished whiskies. This is the first in the series, Cuvée A, limited to 12,000 bottles.

Caroni 1997 The Rum Cask 18 Year Old

A single cask #215 Caroni distilled in 1997 and bottled in 2015.

Benriach 25 Year Old

Initially released in 2006 and matured in a combination of Oloroso, bourbon and virgin oak casks.

Bruichladdich 1990 Valinch 25 Year Old / Kate Hannett

Distilled in 1990 then matured in a sherry hogshead.

This 25 year old was bottled with the image of Kate Hannett Bruichladdich Academy host.

Caroni 18 Year Old Dewar Rattray / Single Barrel 

A single barrel bottling of Caroni, aged for 18 years and bottled by A.D. Rattray.

Chateau La Mission Haut Brion 1966

The only red-wine producer outside the Haut-Médoc classified in the Bordeaux Wine Official Classification of 1855, the Premier Cru Château Haut-Brion, and also includes all of the châteaux listed in the 1953/59 classification of Graves for which La Mission-Haut-Brion is one. 

La Mission-Haut-Brion is situated just across the road from Haut-Brion in the commune of Talence in the southern suburbs of Bordeaux. This bottle predates the unifiction of ownership in 1983, when both properties came under the same ownership, Domaine Clarence Dillon S.A. La Mission-Haut-Brion's vineyards (Cabernet Sauvignon 48%, Merlot 45%, Cabernet Franc 7%) lie on a large (up to 18 metres deep in places) gravel bank interspersed with clay. The wine is fermented in temperature-controlled, stainless steel vats and then matured in oak barriques (100% new) for 18 months.

A stunning official 25 year old Caol Ila following on from the previous cask strength releases, this is at a lighter 43%. 

Bowmore Devil’s Cask Batch #3

The first batch was released in October 2013, this release from Bowmore barely even reached retailer shelves.  The Devil is rumoured to have escaped Bowmore in one of the distilleries casks, after being chased from the famous church in Bowmore; which has no corners so he was unable to hide there. 

This release was matured exclusively in first fill Oloroso and Pedro Ximinez Sherry casks then bottled at cask strength.

This is the third release.

A fantastic old bottling of Black & White with the springcap. 

No volume or ABV is displayed. 

This was bottled for NAAFI, Which stands for Navy, Army and Air Force Institutes which were set up round the world to provide services to British Service people.
