Macallan 1970 Fine and Rare

The Macallan Fine and Rare Series of whiskies was designed to represent the very best vintages / whisky that Macallan had to offer, dating back as far as 1926.

This Fine and Rare Macallan was distilled in 1970 and bottled in 2002 from cask #9033.

The condition of this box and bottle is pristine.

A truly stunning bottle of Macallan distilled in 1946 and matured for over half a century until bottling, this is bottle number 1756.

Macallan 1940

There were very very few distillery operational distilleries during World War Two which makes this bottle of Macallan exceptionally rare.  

Distilled in 1940 and bottled by Gordon and Macphail for Pro Nobilitate Ebert Hainzl Co, Hamburg

Please take a close look at the images for condition of bottle and box, some staining to labels, slight tearing to front label and slight staining from the red band.

Macallan Cask 888

Limited to a very exclusive 720 bottles, the exclusive Cask 888 was bottled from a single sherry-seasoned cask on the 8th August 2008 (08.08.08).  To continue with the theme of this bottle the strength is 48.8% and has coincidentally being listed as lot number 8888.

The decanter has been created by the cosmetic glass manufacturer Stolzle Flaconnag and is presented in a display case alongside two  branded tumblers and a certificate of authenticity. For its part, Lalique displayed its latest collection, Le Noir Crystal especially for the launch of Cask 888.

A spectacular release from Gordon and Macphail, Macallan distilled in 1945 and bottled in 2013 - 68 years old and at this age it takes the mantle for being the oldest bottle of Macallan ever released!

Hanyu 1986 Ace of Diamonds Single Cask #9023

Part of the legendary card series produced by Ichiro Akuto.  

Distilled at the lost Japanese distillery of Hanyu in 1986  and bottled in 2008  from cask #9023.

This rare Hanyu was initially matured in a traditional hogshead before a second maturation in a cream sherry butt.

Hanyu 1986 King of Hearts Single Cask #9033

Hanyu is a closed Japanese distillery that received a new lease of life from Ichiro Akuto, who bottled the last of the stock in the iconic card range. 

Distilled in 1986 and bottled in 2009, after being aged in a hogshead then finished in a Pedro Ximenez sherry butt.

A wonderful addition to any Macallan collection, the Royal Marriage bottling was released in 1981 to celebrate the marriage of The Prince of Wales to  Lady Diana Spencer.

A marriage of casks from 1948 and 1961, the years of the couples' births.

The vatting used in this whisky included one cask from 1961 (#1580) amongst other casks and a total of 5,000 bottles were released.

Hibiki 17 and 21  Year Old Mount Fuji Limited Edition

To Commemorate Mount Fuji the highest peak in Japan getting added to the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List in 2013, Suntory released this special edition. 

The Hibiki whose bottle always has  24 facets representing the 24 seasons of the Japanese lunar calendar has been redecorated with a painting of a scenic view of Mount Fuji. 

This lot comprises a bottle of the 17 and 21 year old within this limited edition bottle and packaging design.

Macallan Royal Wedding

The first of the Royal releases from Macallan is a limited edition bottling of only 1,000 bottles celebrating the Royal Marriage of Prince William to Catherine Middleton on 29th April 2011.

Bottled from two casks, both filled on 29th April – one from 1996 and one from 1999.

The creation of this special bottle follows the release of a commemorative edition to mark the marriage of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer in 1981. This comprised two casks, one from each of their birth years. At the time, the bottle sold out and today is highly sought-after by collectors of The Macallan around the world.

In keeping with this original bottling, The Macallan commissioned the creative force behind the 1981 bottle, David Holmes, who was also one of the architects of their advertising campaign in the 1980s and the early 1990s, to create the label and packaging design.

Macallan Diamond Jubilee

Released in 2012 this specially designed bottle bears a unique image of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II created by the sculptor Arnold Martin.

The contents of this bottle were specially chosen for the months it was drawn from the casks, 6th February, the Queen's accession and the first week in June, traditionally when the Jubilees are celebrated.  Bottled at 52% in line with the year of the Queen's accession, only 2,012 bottles were released.

After the auction closing date, the highest bidder will be notified by email. Payment is required within 72hrs. The buyer can then choose to ship, store, or collect the bottle(s). Buyer fees are applied during the online checkout process.  

The seller will receive payment within 21 working days of the end of the auction, directly to their chosen bank account. Seller fees will be applied to the seller’s invoice after the auction.
