Old Bushmills

While much of the Old Bushmills distillery's marketing makes reference to a founding date of 1608, this refers to a royal license granted to a local landowner in the area. The Old Bushmills distillery is still very old however, established in 1784 with the modern buildings constructed in 1885 following a fire. It is today part of the holdings of Mexican multinational and Jose Cuervo tequila producer, Becle, who acquired it in 2014 from Diageo.

The single malt produced by the distillery is used for the Bushmills brand where it is either bottled on its own, or blended with grain whiskey sourced from Midleton.
