James Sedgwick
James Sedgwick distillery is a whisky producer in Wellington, South Africa and it was built in 1886 by J. Sedgwick & Co. Its eponymous founder had passed away in 1872 and his two sons, Charles and Alfred, were now running the business and looking to expand its wine and spirits importing activities into distilling brandy and making their own fortified wines.
Despite its long history, whisky distilling did not begin at the distillery until 1990 when it was made the production home of the Three Ships brand, producing both the malt and grain whiskies in the blend. It also makes the Bain's and Harrier brands, among others.
