Gimli
Officially known as the Diageo Gimli Plant, this is a large distillery in the town of the same name in Manitoba, Canada. It was originally built in 1968 by the Seagram Company in order to reduce pressure on its existing Waterloo distillery in Ontario. It eventually took over from the latter entirely when it was closed in 1992, becoming the production home for brands such as Seagram's V.O. and Crown Royal.
When Seagram collapsed in 2000, the distillery was acquired by Diageo. It continues to provide the majority of its output to the Crown Royal blends, however also provides spirit for a number of other brands.
