Garrison Brothers
Garrison Brothers is an American whiskey distillery and oldest licensed bourbon producer operating in Texas. It is owned by Lone Star Distillery LLC and originally shared the same name, changing it to Garrison Brothers in 2008 following a trademark dispute with Lone Star beer producer, Busch Brewing. The brothers in question are distillery founder, Dan Garrison, and his sibling, Charlie.
The distillery uses locally sourced grains, supplies its water by catching rainwater in huge on-site cisterns, and operates a single still, purchased from the experimental labs at Wild Turkey.
The Garrison Brothers brand was launched in 2010 with the introduction of its debut bourbon release. It launched its famous Cowboy Bourbon for the first time in 2013, an uncut and unfiltered whiskey drawn from specially reserved barrels. As of 2015 this has been an annual release, despite attempts by Allied Lomar in 2018 to dispute the trademark based on the Cowboy Little Barrel brand they had produced years earlier.
Today the Garrison Brothers portfolio also includes small batch and single barrel bourbon alongside a number of cask-finished and flavoured releases as well.
