Ardnahoe
Islay's ninth operational distillery and the second to be built in the 21st century, Ardnahoe opened in 2018 and represented the transition of its parent company, Hunter Laing & Co, from independent bottler to distiller.
Company founder, Stewart Laing, had worked at Bruichladdich at the start of his career and the opening of his own Islay distillery was a long-held dream. In 2017 another Bruichladdich alumnus in its legendary former distillery manager, Jim McEwan, joined the distillery as its production director. Its first spirit ran from the stills in October 2018 and its first cask filled the following month.
The Ardnahoe distillery branding was introduced in 2017 with the release of The Kinship label by Hunter Laing. Annual instalments of the series, launched during the Fèis Ìle on Islay, commemorated various milestones in the construction, completion and beginnings of operation at the distillery.
The Ardnahoe single malt brand was then launched in 2024 with the bottling of the distillery's Inaugural Release, again introduced in May to coincide with the Fèis Ìle festival. The current core range expression is called Infinite Loch and it debuted in the autumn of 2024.
