P. Mackenzie & Co Distillers was established in Edinburgh by Peter Mackenzie in 1898 in order to manage its blending and distilling interests at Blair Athol and Dufftown distilleries. It was acquired by Arthur Bell & Sons in 1932 and operated for much of the 20th century as a subsidiary of the group before being dissolved by United Distillers.
The company's brands included The Real Mackenzie and Max's Vat, and it also bottled the Bladnoch single malt brand when the distillery was first acquired by Arthur Bell & Sons in 1983.
