Newmake

Newmake Ltd is an Edinburgh-based holding company, established in 2013 by Rob Carpenter. It was granted planning permission in 2015 to convert the Engine Shed next to Edinburgh's Holyrood Park into a distillery, founding The Holyrood Distillery Ltd as a subsidiary the following year.

The company later welcomed former Macallan master distiller, David Robertson, and Fabio Giovinetti (former owner of legendary Italian importer Giovinetti & Figli) as directors, and the distillery was eventually opened in 2019.
