Morrison Bowmore Distillers
Morrison Bowmore Distillers is a dormant subsidiary of the American-based Japanese multinational, Beam Suntory. It was originally the new name for the Stanley P. Morrison company in 1987, but was established as a new entity 1989 with Suntory buying a 35% stake. The Japanese company then became the majority owner in 1994.
When Beam Suntory was formed in 2014, Morrison Bowmore Distillers became an active subsidiary through which it managed the Auchentoshan, Bowmore and Glen Garioch distilleries, as well as the McClelland's brand. It ceased trading in 2019 however, when its assets and liabilities were transferred to a new entity, Beam Suntory UK.
