Kirin Holdings
Kirin Holdings Ltd is a large Japanese multinational with diverse business interests across the food and drink, health science and pharmaceuticals industry. It was established in 1907 as the Kirin Brewery Company following its acquisition of Japan Brewery. It was reorganised at Kirin Holdings in 2007, with a new beer and spirits subsidiary incorporated under the original company name in the process.
Through the Kirin Brewing Company, it owns the Mt. Fuji distillery and its associated brands in Japan, and the historic Four Roses bourbon brand and distillery in Kentucky, USA. It also inherited the silent Karuizawa distillery through its acquisition of Mercian in 2006, but subsequently dismantled it.
