Glenwyvis Distillery Ltd

Glenwyvis Distillery Ltd is a community benefit society, originally incorporated as a limited company by John McKenzie in 2015. The plan for the company and the distillery it intended to build was for it to be community-owned, and it was re-registered in 2016 following an initial share offer round of fundraising that generated £2.6m in just 77 days. A second round in 2017 brought the number of shareholders to 3,200 people.

The company began construction of the Glenwyvis distillery in early 2017, completing and opening it later that year. It launched its Goodwill gin brand in 2018, followed by its first Glenwvis single malts in 2021.
