Togouchi
Togouchi is a Japanese brand of blended and single malt whiskies. It was introduced in 2013 by Chugoku Jozo and was originally a blend of Scottish and Canadian spirit but caught consumer attention for its unusual aging process that involved the casks being stored in a disused railway tunnel in Hiroshima.
As of 2021, single malt from the Sakurao distillery has been aged in the tunnel and bottled as Togouchi. The blended whisky version of the brand continues too, and its core range comprises an 8-, 15-year-old and non-age statement expression alongside a pair of cask-finished releases from ex-beer and ex-sake wood.
