Islay Mist

Islay Mist is a famous blended Scotch whisky brand that is currently produced by MacDuff International. The recipe for the blend was devised by Ian Hunter of D. Johnston & Co in 1927, and was a vatting of its Laphroaig whisky with some other malts from Speyside to produce a lighter flavoured expression to provide to guests at the 21st birthday of then laird of Islay’s son, John Granville Morrison. The company later made the brand commercially available, adding grain whisky to the blend.

The brand's core range currently comprises The Original, supported by a range of age statements from 10- to 17-year old, and an 8-year-old exclusive to the US, Japan and Canada.
