The Botanist
The Botanist is a brand of Islay dry gin, introduced in 2011 by Bruichladdich distillery while under the management of Jim McEwan. The spirit is distilled on a recommissioned Lomond still, acquired from the closed Inverleven malt distillery where it had been unused since 1985.
The gin is flavoured with twenty-two locally-foraged Islay botanicals and is available at a standard strength of 46% ABV, as well as a Hebridean Strength offering for travel retail. Some cask-aged limited editions have also been produced.
