Parker's Heritage Collection 11 Year Old Single Barrel Bourbon

Launched in 2007, the Parker's Heritage Collection from Heaven Hill is named after former Heaven Hill Master Distiller, Parker Beam. Parker was sadly diagnosed with ALS (also known as Lou Gherig's disease) in 2010, and bottlings from then on were produced in order to raise funds for research into the condition, and this continues since his death in 2017. Parker's legacy with the company was his forward thinking-approach, and he created the industry’s first small batch bourbon, Elijah Craig, in 1986, and Heaven Hill's first single barrel bourbons, Evan Williams, in 1994. Thic collection continues to honour his ethos by celebrating his achievements as well as pursuing further experimentation in his honour.

The eleventh release in 2017 was this, an 11 year old single barrel bourbon. This Bernheim-distilled barrel was selected from Parker's favourite rickhouse in Deatsville.

Heaven Hill were established in 1935, but their long-serving Bardstown distillery was lost in a devastating fire in 1996. Homeless for three years, the company acquired Bernheim in 1999, and have produced all of their whiskey there ever since.

Distilled at Bernheim, this is the thiteenth release from the collection and it was the first time rye whisky had been included. What makes this bottle especially unique is that the whiskey has been aged for 8 years in level 5 charred barrels. The most common barrel used in American whiskey is a level 3 charring which is 35 seconds of fire, whereas a level 5 cask has been charred for 90.

This is an unusual release, a Kentucky Straight Malt whiskey with a mash containing 85% malted barley. The casks filled at Bernheim and aged for 8 years in Heaven Hill's Bardstown warehouse on the 5th and 7th floors.

This is the twelfth edition, released in 2018 and is the second barrel finish bottling in the series. For this release, Heaven Hill partnered up with cognac Master Blender, Alain Royer. The bourbon is a dumping of Bernheim barrels aged 7 to 8 years in the upper floors of Rickhouse Q, which were finished for 4 months in barrels that had previously held Curacao, a French orange liqueur.

Peerless 24 Month Old Barrel Proof Rye 2015

Peerless is a historic brand dating back to 1889 when the Worsham distillery was acquired by H. Kraver. He produced whiskey under the Kentucky Peerless Brand until Prohibition closed the distillery in 1920. The brand was resurrected in 2014 by two of his ancestors, Corky and Carson Taylor, who acquired the original distillery number and unlike many resurrected brands who source their casks from established distilleries, built their own plant in downtown Louisville. They filled their first casks in 2015.

This whisky has been aged for 24 months in wood before being bottled at barrel strength in 2015.
