You can place bids either under the lot image on the main auction page or on the right side of the individual lot page.
Placing a Maximum Bid
Use the "Set your bid limit" button on the left side of the bidding panel to enter the highest amount you're willing to bid on a lot. Our system will then automatically raise your bid in set increments if you’re outbid, up to your maximum. If someone bids above your set limit, we’ll notify you by email so you can choose whether to increase your bid.
Placing a Single Bid
Alternatively, place a single bid by selecting the button on the right side of the bidding panel. The button displays the amount needed for the next increment. For example, if the current highest bid is £50.00, the button will show "+ £55.00" (reflecting a £5.00 increment).

Our system increases bids based on preset increments, as shown in the table below, whether you set a maximum bid or make a single bid.

Midleton Dair Ghaelach Grinsell's Wood Tree No.9
The formation of the Irish Distillers group in 1966, an amalgamation of Jameson, Powers and Cork Distillers, was the beginning of a sea change in the landscape of Irish whiskey. Necessitated primarily by a need to capitalise on a much-expanded export market, the move also saw a change in the whiskey behind the brand names, favouring blended Irish whiskies over the traditional single pot still style. Irish Distillers pushed Jameson as the face of the company, but its historic Bow Street home had no column still to produce grain, meaning this component had to be produced at Power's John's Lane distillery. In order to streamline its operations, the company shut both distilleries down, building a bespoke new facility next-door to its Old Midleton distillery in Cork, which was shut down as well. Midleton opened in 1975 and was the only distillery in Ireland until Cooley was built in 1987.
This is a single pot still Irish whiskey, initially matured for between 15 and 22 years in bourbon casks, then finished in virgin Irish oak (Dair Ghaelach in gaelic).
Sustainable oak from trees from Grinsell's wood at the Ballaghtobin estate was transported to Spain in 2010 to be expertly quarter-sawn, then sent to a cooperage in Jerez to be turned into hogsheads for this release.
